The Surgery Electives Abroad program of Elective Africa is customized for individuals seeking exposure to surgical procedures in a developing country’s health system. Senior medical students interested in surgery are eligible to participate in the program. Through guided shadowing and supervised hands-on activities, you undergo mentoring to enhance your skills and learn the factors affecting the delivery of surgical care in a different health system. Specializations include Orthopedic Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Pediatric Surgery, Burn Surgery, Trauma, Emergency Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and General Surgery.
