Program Highlights
Travel back to the 14th century as you explore the unique, circular, and medieval Bellver Castle; climb to the top for sweeping views of Palma, the harbor, the sea, and the mountains.
Indulge your sweet tooth at Palma’s oldest chocolatería for traditional pastries and homemade ice cream, and then cook some Mallorquin dishes of your own, all of it in Spanish!
Take a scenic daytrip through the towns along the coastal Tramuntana Mountain Range, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
Enter the Mediterranean marine world at the Palma Aquarium and learn about the more than 8,000 animals and 700 different species.
Swim, snorkel, kayak, paddleboard, and enjoy the great outdoors at your tent underneath the Mallorcan night sky; maneuver down a rocky path to the natural beach of Coll Baix.

My experience with the CIEE Spanish Language and Culture Program in Palma de Mallorca was overwhelmingly positive and truly transformative. Living with a welcoming host family allowed me to experience authentic Spanish culture, try new foods, and practice my language skills daily. Taking university-level Spanish classes deepened my understanding of the language while immersing me in an academic environment abroad. Beyond the classroom, cultural activities and excursions helped me connect with the island’s history and people, creating lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. This program not only strengthened my Spanish but also gave me a new sense of independence and appreciation for global perspectives.

This experience was so much fun and it really did improve my spanish and make me feel a lot more confident when speaking. I loved my host family so much and my experience there was so much fun too. ill never forget this and everyone who can I really do think they should
