Uncover the science behind Danish sustainability as you design and present a tool that supports a green initiative.
In Copenhagen, one of the world's greenest cities, explore how sustainable solutions are reshaping the way we live. Often called a "living laboratory" for eco-friendly innovation, Denmark pledges to be the first country independent of fossil fuels by 2050. Alongside other Global Navigators, propose your own tool that contributes to a green initiative in Denmark or the U.S.
Dive into hands-on fieldwork and assess human impact on ecosystems. Work with experts to collect environmental data and analyze sustainable behavior patterns. Visit CopenHill, a power plant that turns waste into clean energy and doubles as a ski slope.
Hop on the Danes' favorite mode of transportation and bike to Nyhavn Harbor and the Little Mermaid statue. On excursions, travel to Samsø, the world's first renewable energy island, and Youth Island, a hub for young changemakers. Your time in Copenhagen will show how cities abroad adopt sustainable practices, inspiring ideas you can apply to your future engineering career.
