Bronx Familia Animal Shelter

Bronx Familia Animal Shelter is a non-profit rescue organization based on the island of **Crete**, dedicated to saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and stray dogs. Founded by **Nikos Tsikalakis**, who began his mission in 2013 after rescuing his first dog, Bronx, the shelter has grown into a sanctuary for hundreds of animals in need. Today, it cares for around 300 rescue dogs, along with several other animals, providing them with food, medical care, safety, and compassion while they await loving homes.

The organization’s mission is to reduce the stray dog population through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and active neutering and sterilization programs. By working closely with the local community, the shelter promotes responsible pet ownership and helps prevent future abandonment.

Driven by the belief that every soul deserves a good life, the shelter advocates for a world free from animal cruelty, where animals and humans can live together safely and peacefully.
