Life changing experience
November 06, 2019by: Brigette Remsburg - United StatesProgram: Beyond Sports TravelGoing to Costa Rica alone as a High School student seemed very daunting but I wanted the challenge. Little did I know this experience would change my life! GLASS provided me the opportunity to learn more about myself in 10 days than I ever had before. With leadership workshops every night after a packed day of volunteering, workouts and fun excursions, you’re provided the opportunity by wonderful staff to grow into yourself surrounded by girls you quickly learn to trust. Not only are you growing during these 10 days, but your mentors give you resources to continue with your growth once you leave Costa Rica. I learned how to surf, face my fear of heights while zip lining, and become immersed in different cultures by town in Costa Rica. Working with the local kids and helping them learn life skills through sport was the highlight of my trip. The bonds you form with the other girls on this trip will last forever! I am close with the girls I went on my trip with and we are planning a meet up soon! I would recommend this trip to any high school female athlete.
