Going to Costa Rica alone as a High School student seemed very daunting but I wanted the challenge. Little did I know this experience would change my life! GLASS provided me the opportunity to learn more about myself in 10 days than I ever had before. With leadership workshops every night after a packed day of volunteering, workouts and fun excursions, you’re provided the opportunity by wonderful staff to grow into yourself surrounded by girls you quickly learn to trust. Not only are you growing during these 10 days, but your mentors give you resources to continue with your growth once you leave Costa Rica. I learned how to surf, face my fear of heights while zip lining, and become immersed in different cultures by town in Costa Rica. Working with the local kids and helping them learn life skills through sport was the highlight of my trip. The bonds you form with the other girls on this trip will last forever! I am close with the girls I went on my trip with and we are planning a meet up soon! I would recommend this trip to any high school female athlete.

GLASS Costa Rica was more than we could have ever imagined! From traveling internationally for the first time by herself, to going without a familiar face and meeting 32 girls plus the mentors and then leaving with friends across the USA. The excursions were amazing and challenging, the workouts tough but made us stronger, to the positive interactions and teaching during the leadership workshops, this experience was more than I could have ever imagined. My daughter had the most amazing time! This experience was something that she will never forget. She also met some of the most phenomenal people that she never would have had the chance to meet elsewhere. Great food, great adventures, great people, equals a truly once in a lifetime experience that will live on forever in her heart and mind.
