GoAbroad

A unique, funded opportunity in Japan designed for U.S. college & university students to gain experience teaching non-native speakers of English. College students and recent graduates spend 6-8 weeks in summer, fall or spring in Japan. Participants earn a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate, team teach in a public school system, and engage in deep cultural exchange with Japanese peers. Peers can also help participants learn basic Japanese or develop language skills further. Knowledge of Japanese is not required. Students may be pursuing any major. Students may have freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or master's status, or graduate during the year prior to the term abroad.

Program Highlights

Complete a Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) training program while engaging in low-stress team-teaching experiences in the Munakata public school system.
