Program Overview

Spend your summer in Tokyo and experience Japan from the inside! This immersive high school program combines Japanese language study with everyday life in one of the world’s most exciting cities. Choose from 3-, 4-, or 7-week programs designed for students ages 15–18, with no previous Japanese study required.

Students attend Japanese language classes based on their experience level, from beginner through advanced, while practicing their skills in real-life situations throughout their stay. You’ll live with a carefully selected Japanese host family, share meals and daily routines, and experience a side of Japan that tourists rarely get to see.

Beyond the classroom, cultural activities and excursions bring Japan to life. Depending on program length, excursions may include destinations such as Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, Nikko, and Kamakura.

Whether you already love Japanese language and culture or are discovering them for the first time, this program offers the chance to build language skills, gain independence, make international connections, and return home with a deeper understanding of life in Japan.
