Study abroad in downtown Glasgow at the University of Strathclyde! This internationally ranked technological university is located in the heart of Scotland’s largest and most cosmopolitan city and offers a diverse, walkable experience. There is plenty to enjoy right where you are, with shopping and urban life right at your doorstep. But with Glasgow as a transit hub, you also have access to the rest of the city, the UK, and beyond. The University of Strathclyde was established in 1796 as the 3rd-largest university in Scotland and has characterized itself from its start as a “place of useful learning.” With over 24,000 students (23% of whom are international, from more than 150 countries), Strathclyde collaborates most notably with the community through the Glasgow City Innovation District. The Glasgow City Innovation District is an entrepreneurial and innovative hub, anchored by the university, that hosts numerous companies and encourages talent, research, and technology development– an application of “useful learning” for the 21st century that combines business with academics. A new sports center, Strathclyde Sport, and many other upgraded facilities are all at your disposal.
