Study at London's Global University! From its inception to the present day, when it's the UK's second-largest university (with 42,000 students from 150 countries), UCL has been strongly committed to diversity, inclusion, social justice, and gender. It was the first university in England to admit women and students irrespective of race or religion. It remains one of the UK’s most prestigious universities and one of the world's top universities. Its particular strengths are in English, economics, arts and humanities, engineering, neuroscience, and the social and historical sciences. UCL also has courses at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art, home to an independent Studio Program. When applying to UCL, you’ll be accepted into one or two academic departments and take all of your courses from those departments. This is a competitive program best undertaken by independent students who value academic rigor and self-directed study. The campus is located in the central London area of Bloomsbury, which is near the Arcadia London Center and has easy access to important cultural attractions such as the British Museum and Regents’ Park among them.

Program Highlights

Apply to a particular department and benefit (if admitted) from the support of a departmental tutor who is an expert in working with visiting students.

Find a place at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art (if you’re qualified), which offers courses in fine art, drawing, painting, theater design, or the independent studio program.

Make plenty of friends at the large UCL Students’ Union, where you can join a diverse range of clubs, sports, and societies.

Have the opportunity to perform at the Bloomsbury Theater, UCL’s semi-professional theater, if you’re a member of the performing arts societies.

Stay in Bloomsbury, where you’ll have easy access to staff support at the Arcadia London Center as well as to cultural attractions like the British Museum and Regents’ Park.
