Assistant Caretaker for an Animal Sanctuary in Cambodia
Program Overview
We are looking for a hard-working, animal-loving assistant to learn how to care for animals in a rescue shelter. This role involves much more than feeding! A clean shelter is ESSENTIAL to ensuring the health of our 100+ rescued cats and dogs. The Assistant also learns some basics about caring for fully rehabilitated animals with lifelong health issues, such as paralysis and PTSD.
Primarily, we are looking for those with veterinary or animal care/sanctuary experience or education, but all applicants must have experience working or volunteering with animals.
Specific duties include:
+ Expressing and giving wound care to our paralysed animals
+ Animal care, medication administration, parasite prevention
+ Feeding and grooming
+ Cleaning enclosures and basic sanctuary maintenance
Eligibility requirements:
Must have previous experience working with animals
Must be able to communicate well in English
Not afraid of dogs or cats; we have 140+ and you will work with them every day
Must be able to commit to 1 to 3 months – training will be involved in the beginning
