Program Overview
The American Councils are pleased to offer the Eurasian Regional Language Program (ERLP) coursework by way of distance learning. Students will attend daily remote language instruction, be paired with virtual conversation partners, and take part in a wide variety of virtual cultural activities. Languages offered include Dari, Farsi, Georgian, Pashto, Romanian, Tajiki, Ukrainian, and Uzbek.
The academic program will feature daily online, synchronous, and asynchronous instruction that will focus on developing language skills in speaking, reading, listening, grammar, and writing. Participants will also complete regular assignments outside of class that expand upon the activities covered in online classes.
The program offers a full-time track and a part-time track to accommodate a variety of schedules. Live instruction is approximately 12 academic hours per week for the full-time track and 6 academic hours per week for the part-time track. Class sizes range from two to six students depending on the language level. Additional academic hours per week will be delivered in an asynchronous (recorded) format.
