Thousands of orphaned children who suffer from extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS, and hopelessness often leave their villages and travel to Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Moshi, and other cities. However, they often end up worse off on the street. Efforts have been made by various local organizations to protect these children by offering much-needed education as well as skills development training. While there are orphanages taking in these kids, they lack resources and are understaffed. Some don’t have enough finances to provide basic needs, including food.
