The Arusha Medical Project in Tanzania

The hospital deals with challenges that include insufficient staff, a growing community of patients who need medical care, medication shortages, and outdated equipment. Hence, assistance and help from qualified medical staff or volunteer medical students are invaluable. The hospital aims to provide medical care to the communities of Maasai in the greater Arusha area. The volunteer’s role is to provide support to the hospital and the various departments where assistance is needed most. The men’s, children’s, and women’s wards have a growing number of patients and limited medical staff. The volunteer is expected to help lighten the load for the other staff and provide the support needed. The project needs volunteers to help them deal with the challenges of lack of funding, limited government support, and a large number of patients. Financial support is also needed to improve the hospital’s general situation.
