Join the Physiotherapy Elective Placement Program and have the opportunity to attend to both in-patients and out-patients. Get the chance as well to attend to kids with cerebral palsy at the hospital. The program provides occupational therapy to several children. Students use their hands as well as electrical and mechanical machines and natural elements, like cold and heat, to assist in the enhancement of function, restoration to good health, and the alleviation of pain among clients. Physiotherapists assist patients, who cannot return to normal life in their rehabilitation, to a full life – at least to the extent that their disabilities allow. Students engage in a variety of procedures, including the following: - Giving advice on coping with chronic illness - Educating communities in a healthy lifestyle - Performing tests of lung capacity and electrical tests of nerves and muscles - Analyzing patterns of posture and movement - Evaluating the nature of pain - Testing for loss of sensation - Measuring joint range and muscle strength - Evaluating the function of the muscular-skeletal, nervous, respiratory, and circulatory systems
