Language and Maasai Culture Program in Tanzania

Experience complete cultural immersion in this one-week program meant for volunteers and interns. It combines language learning, exploring incredible places, and immersing yourself in the culture and history of Tanzania. You can stay in Amani Hostel or choose to live with a selected host family to truly experience the local way of life. Day 1: Orientation about life and culture in Tanzania as well as start your Swahili language course. Day 2: Continue your Swahili lessons and watch a video presentation about Tanzanian wildlife and the Maasai people. Day 3: Spend the day exploring Arusha and Maasai villages. Day 4: Continue your Swahili lessons, join a short cultural program, and then head to nearby beaches. Day 5: Continue your Swahili lessons and listen to traditional Tanzanian music. Visit a village museum to observe its culture and artists. Day 6: Spend the day visiting national parks in and around Arusha, and then travel to Moshi. Day 7: Culmination of the cultural immersion program and evaluation of your Swahili lessons, and then departure to your project site.
