Internship in Tanzania: HIV/AIDS Outreach Clinic

Gain valuable experience in health care while immersed in this internship placement abroad. Tanzania faces numerous medical issues, along with an obvious lack of resources and manpower in the local hospitals of major cities where we operate. Our program places you at an HIV/AIDS outreach clinic that conducts home-based care to people infected and affected by the disease.

As a medical intern, you will observe rural health posts and community clinics. You will spend the majority of your time learning as an assistant to a doctor or healthcare professional. Your responsibilities vary depending on your education, previous experience, and skills. Generally, you could:

- Distribute medication and food supplies to people suffering from HIV/AIDS
- Care for children and adults infected with the disease
- Increase awareness of HIV/AIDS through various educational activities
- Disseminate information to others in an effort to ultimately stop and prevent the disease in Tanzania

This project is open to students and professionals in the field of medicine and health care as well as to volunteers who are willing to share their time and love with HIV/AIDS patients.
