The Croatian Language and Culture program helps students learn the elementary level of the Croatian language and offers an excellent insight into Croatian culture. Students will learn a well-balanced selection of Croatian terminology, key conversational phrases and grammatical structures. The course will also add a practical value in terms of enabling students to use the language in social activities when interacting with locals during their stay in Croatia. An additional aim of the program is to strengthen students’ cultural competence about Croatia as a modern country, as well as a country with long history that is located at the intersection of three different European cultural circles. The special emphasis in the program is put on facts about famous Croatians and Croatian history, geography, cuisine, customs and the Croatian way of life.

I think the course was organized very well. For students who never heard or had an opportunity to learn Croatian, I think that the course was structured in a way that it felt almost easy for everyone. The teacher always had material and examples for us to practice and get more involved.
It was amazing meeting all the group, and beginning to learn a new language was awesome! Petra is an awesome teacher! I didn’t expect to learn so much about Croatia or Croatian language, even my Croatian friends are surprised about it haha
After this course I have a general idea of Croatian culture and now I really want to go and visit. I think I can present myself and know which places I need to visit. The Professor was awesome. She showed us cool videos about Croatian culture, communicated well with everyone and was super friendly.
The course exceeded my expectations. The professor was awesome and so friendly. I enjoyed every class, and it was really interesting! I like how in a short time we learn a lot about Croatian culture and language, the session are very well planned.
