I especially want to highlight how much she helped me when my return flight was unexpectedly canceled ,in a moment of stress and uncertainty, Samia stepped in and helped me find emergency accommodations. That kind of care and responsiveness made all the difference, and I’ll always be grateful for her kindness, quick thinking, and genuine warmth. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone looking to intern in New York City. Not only will you gain invaluable experience, but you’ll also be supported by people like Samia who truly care

My internship with AIFS was a dream come true. I had the privilege to work with Wing and Weft, an independent glove shop in the Garment District. It has been my dream to work in Times Square since I was a kid, so I was thrilled to be able to walk through the chaotic streets every day! I was able to strengthen my artistic, professional and social skills, along with being my authentic self each and every day.

I really enjoyed working at The Actors Theatre Workshop. I became really good friends with the other interns and we often hung out outside of work. However, what put a damper on my experience were my managers, they were often condescending towards myself and the other interns when giving instructions, and got mad at myself and the other interns for socializing. I really enjoyed my time with them and got amazing experience that I will value forever. They are a good company.

I 100% recommend the NYC summer internship program if you are looking to gain initial professional experience and meet new people from all over! I absolutely loved my internship placement at Towers & Associates P.C. The environment was welcoming, professional, and at times challenging (but in a great way to learn). My roomate and I I loved all the activities that were planned to immerse us into the city. And every weekend we had time to explore the things we wanted to on our own. I can’t recommend this enough if you want to gain confidence in both your future career and in building relationships with those around you. I have found a future home for myself in NYC. I will surely be returning, and when I do I will use all the connections I made with AIFS to expand upon my opportunities!

I was able to make meaningful connections with multiple rappers, DJS, models, creatives, and comedians during my time here. I worked in the office mon-wed (varies depending on internship) so I spent the rest of the week exploring the city, hanging out with friends and taking photos of literally anything and everything.

My time in New York was amazing, I loved working with my employeers and getting to socialize with other students in the EHS building. Samia was a great host!! She always made sure we were safe and the events were really fun! I loved exploring the different cities within NY, but it is a bit costly. Other than the cost everything was pretty good!

AIFS presents an incredible chance for students seeking internships and job experience in New York City. The program offers extensive support, and Samia does an outstanding job as both a host and event coordinator as she organizes many fun and amazing events, that allow you to connect with other students and even your employers. Adjusting to life in a bustling city like NYC was a significant change, but it led to immense personal growth. My internship not only helped me develop as a young professional but also provided valuable experience in my field. It clarified my career aspirations and allowed me to build many meaningful connections. AIFS Abroad is truly a unique opportunity that paves the way for a successful future. AIFS offers such a great opportunity for students looking to intern in New York City! The program truly provides students with endless support and Samia is a great host and event coordinator! Living in a big city like NYC was a huge change and required some adjusting, but in the end it gave me so much personal growth. My internship helped me mature as a young professional and allowed me to learn and gain valuable experience in my field of study. It also gave me a better understanding of my wishes for my future career! I've made so many great connections through my internship and while living here in general. I had a really great time living in New York for the summer, I’m so sad to leave! Samia was a great host and we were able to do fun activities to get the group together. I met people and had so many opportunities to network. I can’t wait to come back and what the future has in store!

This program has put a lot of things in perspective for me. I seriously don’t regret a single thing about this opportunity. It may seem nerve racking or a lot of work at first but the opportunity is truly once in a lifetime. The amount of connections and skills you are able to pick up along the course of this internship is like no other I’ve ever experienced!

I really enjoyed this program, if you are doing an internship it can be hard to meet people in a big city but the housing was set up to where if you can put yourself out there, you are able to connect with other students in the building. The on site support staff really cares and support the students and always felt like I could reach out with any problems or questions.

My internship was by far one of the best decisions I have made in my academic career. Not only was I awarded academic credit for my time there, but I was able to experience a life that I wished I lived sooner. I loved everything about New York City. The culture, the people, the environment, I never felt truly independent and free like I did there. Through my internship, I was able to experience an industry that I wouldn't have ever thought I'd experience, the fashion industry. There are so many complexities within that industry and it was able to open my eyes to a field of communication that was thrilling. I made great connections at my placement and feel that I learned a lot overall.

From start to finish I felt fully supported and that my voice was heard. Global Experiences helped me find an internship that was best placed with my desires & skillset. The accommodation was located in a perfect area with a 1 min walk to a subway and convenience stores and importantly I felt safe! My in-country co-ordinator Maoimie was amazing. She curated a great list of activities for us to do, was able to answer any questions we had & made us feel VERY welcome! The experience I have gained from this internship is PRICELESS. Although I have been to New York before when I was younger, this experience was truly unique! I had the opportunity to not only intern at a global health and human rights NGO, but to be a New Yorker for the summer. I had the chance to explore the city in all its vibrancy and I truly had the best time! There is so much to see and summertime in New York is like no other. Global experiences were so great at supporting me throughout the internship process and a special thank you to Hailey Morris for being such a star in assisting me with everything I needed to prepare me for the best summer of my life. I highly recommend global experiences and I am forever grateful for the experience!

As an Australian, the trip to New York is quite long but I can assure you it is well worth it to see all the city has to offer. For as long as I can remember I had always wanted to know what it would be like to live in New York City and because of this program, I was finally able to experience it first hand. For the duration of my internship i was located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan which I believe to be one of the best spots in the city to live. Living here you get the best of both worlds, a true New Yorker experience unlike that of a tourist whilst still being so close to all the best spots. Given that the public transport system in New York is so convenient and frequent getting to work and travelling was extremely easy. My internship was based at an immigration legal clinic in Queens and it was such a wonderful experience getting to know the different boroughs of NYC whilst learning and gaining exceptional life skills which could translate back to employable qualities back home. Overall I truly enjoyed my time in NYC and my internship, I can honestly say I will be back very soon!

Being an intern in New York City this summer was nothing short of amazing. Global Experiences matched me with a company that allowed me to gain skills in many different areas; I am now experienced in media production, script writing/editing, further experience in digital journalism, social media management, and data analytics. Aside from professional experience, the location of our apartment building was *unreal*. Living in the Upper West Side, only a few blocks away from Central Park, and a few subway stops away from the hustle-and-bustle of Midtown... There's nothing else I could have asked for. There were many extracurricular opportunities provided through Global Experiences, such as a trip to Philadelphia and a day at Coney Island, but there was also plenty of time to do solo-exploration of the city. If you're considering going through Global Experiences for an internship experience in NYC, save yourself the time and just do it--you won't regret it.
