I decided to go abroad with AIFS because they made the idea of interning internationally feel possible and supported. I participated in the Spring Internship Program in Barcelona, Spain, and it ended up being one of the best experiences of my life. Being able to live abroad while gaining real work experience was something I’ll always be grateful for. The AIFS staff were incredible before, during, and even after the program. The Barcelona office was always there for us, whether we needed help or just reassurance, and the included cultural activities and trips were such a bonus. They made it so easy to explore the city and feel immersed in the culture. Through this program, I gained professional skills, confidence, and friendships that will last forever. It pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best way possible, and I truly grew so much as a person. I would recommend AIFS Abroad to anyone looking to grow personally and professionally while exploring the world.

I am a junior at Salisbury University, majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Spanish, I had the incredible opportunity to complete a three month internship in Barcelona through the AIFS program. This experience was nothing short of life-changing. I interned with La Comet, a fashion company in Barcelona, where I contributed to their marketing efforts. The internship not only allowed me to grow professionally but also introduced me to an amazing network of supportive and inspiring individuals. My mentor, Inma López, was a standout part of this journey. Her guidance, care, and encouragement helped me accomplish my goals. She consistently showed her dedication to her students, making the experience truly unforgettable. I only wish I had more time to learn from her beyond our meetings and final check-ins. AIFS made it possible for me to form meaningful connections and immerse myself in a vibrant culture. This program has left me with memories and relationships I will always cherish, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities it provided.

I completed the internship program in Barcelona, Spain and it was easily one of the best times of my life. My internship coordinator, Inma, went above and beyond to place me in an amazing internship with a great company. The staff overall was very helpful and supportive, and they offered many opportunities for us to explore the culture and go on excursions. I don't have a bad thing to say. Why wait?

I was able to intern abroad in Barcelona, Spain within the Tourism placement. I had an amazing time and learned so much about working abroad and being able to find new friends and learn from my work colleagues. I spent my whole summer in Spain and was able to explore different cities, beaches, and countries where I was able to grow my intercultural competence. I think this experience helped me develop and enhance my skills professionally and gave me a clearer understanding of what things I would love to do in my career.

I had a wonderful experience this summer in Barcelona, working in communications, marketing, and business relationships for my host company, Siel Bleu España. The professional and life experience I gained was invaluable and made possible by AIFS!

My internship went well, I had a great experience learning in a workplace environment in a role that suited me well. Barcelona was very exciting and had lots to do with the other students in the program.

I worked at Tablao de Carmen as a marketing and sales intern which combined my passions of both business and Spanish. From the lively work environment to the prime located accommodations and everything in between my experience was nothing but amazing! I worked closely with customers every day as well as had my own personal projects in the back office. The team was generous with our travel schedule and allowed us to experience other cultures around Europe as well. I even went to running of the bulls! Working abroad is something I will always highly recommend if you’re looking to push yourself outside your comfort zone and reap the rewards. Thank you AIFS, thank you Tablao de Carmen and thank you Barcelona… I wish I could relive this summer over and over again!

I had an amazing time in Barcelona. I worked at Ersilia, an incredible sustainable business that gave me fulfilling and rewarding work. I also took Spanish and an internship seminar while abroad. The Spanish class was good, but below my level, so it wasn’t particularly relevant for me. The seminar felt less helpful and didn’t add too much to the experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my internship, host family, and travel experience and would recommend this program with the caveat that not every internship will work out perfectly and give you the desired workload and guidance.

If you're debating whether or not to apply to this program, do it!!! I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in working abroad. I had the most amazing experience in Barcelona, and Global Experiences was so supportive and helpful throughout the whole process. I had the cutest apartment with the best roommates I could ask for, along with amazing coordinators, Inma and Elena, who were there to help us with anything, answer any questions, and plan the most fun social events to gather all the interns together! 10/10 experience!!

Global Experiences’ Barcelona Internship Program is an experience you don’t want to miss applying for! After interning for Eatwith and living in a vibrant city with incredible roommates, I wish I could replay the summer a million times. Everything about this internship was exactly what I wanted for my college abroad experience. I lived in a great area of Barcelona, made amazing friendships, had the coolest day trips with the program, and got great professional experience in the process. 11/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to intern abroad in Barcelona.

Interning abroad is one of the best decisions I made! Global Experiences was a great way to travel while also developing your career path. After this summer I can say I’m going back home having gained a lot. Work experience, cultural experience, friends I won’t forget, and networking. I had so much fun that hopefully I can remember every story. GE was very resourceful and it was a blessing to have Elena and Inma as hosts. They were able to bring the group together almost as a family during events. The events were also well-structured and great to experience. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the program and staff and would definitely recommend!

My internship placement through GE was perfect for me as it combined several of my interests, including what I study, which is graphic design. I got to practice and build my portfolio every day, and I learned what it meant to have a big responsibility when working in a small company. Not only did I learn about the industry and work culture abroad, but I also learned a lot about myself. The pre-departure coaching helped me see my strengths, how to practice them, and where I still can grow in future jobs. This is an amazing opportunity to learn and build your resume, I highly recommend this program!

I had the summer of a lifetime in Barcelona! From the internship to housing and just being in Barcelona it was incredible. GE was there for me throughout the whole process and planned excursions around Barcelona and neighboring areas. Inma and Elena are so kind and helpful with anything I needed and made the experience so memorable.

I was placed in a good work situation where I was able to contribute to a startup and make worldwide connections for the future. Everyone at work has been friendly and helpful. They understood that I didn’t have much experience so they were willing to provide as much support as needed, although I was able to adapt quickly. I definitely feel like this program has provided me with the experience and skills to be more successful in the near future than I would have been without it.

The staff at GE are always there for support and want the absolute best for their students. My internship placement was very unique and I had a wonderful experience. I will move forward with wonderful professional connections. You are given all the resources that you need to meet locals as well!

This was the best decision ever. I got to learn and experience so many new things and build my resume up through this opportunity. I think this was the step that overall has pushed me to standout on applications for jobs in the future, and I wouldn’t trade the memories made for anything. My intern abroad experience with Global Experiences has positively changed my life, and is a trip that I will forever remember and cherish very much. After a challenging year due to COVID-19 restrictions and being one who is more of a homebody, going abroad independently and challenging myself to go out of my comfort zone has made me a new and better person. I went into the program not knowing anyone, never have visited Barcelona before, and had little internship/work experience. After three months, I can confidently and proudly say I have made forever friendships, gained valuable intern experience to prepare me for my future career, and learned A LOT about myself as a person. I highly suggest that you do a semester abroad through Global Experiences (and go to Barcelona, because it is the best city in the world)!! I want to especially thank Inma López for organizing and managing my experience, as well as all of the other interns’ experiences.

I am beyond grateful with Global Experiences, especially with my Program Director. This experiences has been truly a blessing for me and It is something i'll never take for granted. I enjoyed all the experiences that I had in Barcelona and it would not have been possible without GE. My internship placement was great, the apartment was nice, not to mention the staff was incredible.

My experience with Global Experiences was fantastic! From the beginning, the staff was very helpful and took the time to get to know me. There were a series of interviews and counseling sessions to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses before finding an internship placement. Through all the counseling and meetings they were able to find me the perfect placement. My nonprofit internship was more than I could’ve asked for. I grew both personally and professionally in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. At my internship I was treated like an employee and was given a variety of tasks and projects to get a feel for multiple facets of the nonprofit. Our site coordinators Inma and Saskia made the experience very easy and were always there when we needed them. They planned several team social activities that were so fun! Through this experience I have been able to find out what i’m good at and what I need to work on professionally. Interning abroad was the best decision I have made in my life so far. My three months interning in Spain has been a blast and I would not have changed a thing about it. I just graduated college in spring 2019 and knew that I wanted to do some travelling before I started a full time job so when I came across Global Experiences it seemed like the perfect fit for me. I would get to travel to Europe which I had never been before and gain some work experience in the interior design field. I never thought that I would enjoy this experience and make as good of friends with my roommates as I did and I am sad that it is coming to an end but excited for what is next.

This experience was the best I’ve ever had in my life. I not only received an amazing opportunity to work in my desired career path but I made an incredible amount of new friends and connections. The social experiences were fantastic, and the location we lived in had endless amounts of activities to do!

My time in Barcelona was absolutely amazing! I met amazing friends, worked with a great company, explored the city and had the time of my life. As it was my first experience abroad, I really appreciated how helpful Global Experiences was and how amazing their on-site advisors were throughout the full two months. They are amazing! I also learned so much about myself, discovered a love for travel and new cultures, and felt inspired to go and try new things. I was required to complete an internship for my University, and I decided I wanted to go abroad. I had taken a gap semester with a different program in Spain before, and knew I wanted to take this opportunity to go back. After choosing Global Experiences, I was immediately taken aback by the amount of time they devote to each intern. We were given interview and strength coaching, they helped us build our resumes and cover letters, and checked in with us every step of the way. I had very specific requirements set forth by my University as to how long and what tasks I needed to complete during my internship. GE guaranteed to find me a placement that accommodated these requirements, and I secured a perfect internship after my first interview. I couldn't have asked for a better company to work for! In terms of housing, I was placed in a great location with the perfect roommates. GE took the time to look through the roommate questionnaire to ensure we were placed with compatible people and in a convenient location. Our program directors, Inma and Saskia were AMAZING. I encountered a lot of random health issues throughout my time in Barcelona, and they told me exactly which hospital and clinic to go to. They also checked in on me when throughout this time even though they had over 50 other students to keep track of. They were always there to talk to and for any advice we needed. Overall, this was the best summer of my life, and I wouldn't have changed anything about it. I am so glad I went with Global Experiences!

I was kind of nervous about spending a summer aways from home, but thanks to the amazing team at global experience I made the best friends and had amazing roommates. I was able to learn Spanish in a safe environment and deeply enjoy my internship working with kids from all around the world at the YMCA of Spain.

Global experiences exceeded all of my expectations. The company provided me with a seamless experience from start to finish. I made the best decision by choosing Global Experiences in Barcelona. I had the best internship coordinators Inma and Saskia who placed me at a wonderful internship with a known global company. In addition the housing was in a wonderful location.

I think that every new experience that challenges you has its ups and downs. Of course, looking back, you would do some things differently. You learn how to save money, the best travel routes, whatever. These things though, they are just "things". Saving money and time whilst traveling is not the kind of "learning" that people need. It's useful for future travels, of course, but it isn't what really MATTERS. What matters and what makes leaving your home worth it, is everything else that happens in the mix. I have learned more about myself, other cultures, communication, and the world in the past two months than i have ever learned in my life. The perspective I have on people is renewed, and far improved from what it was before. I have confidence in myself that no other person can ever take from me. I am most thankful for the ability I now have to see through another person's eyes. This has--without a doubt--been the most humbling experience. Realistically speaking, the opportunities I have been presented are amazing. The internship I have taken part in is setting me up for my career in the U.S. The company I work for is incredible, and there are so many reasons to be thankful for the professional development I have received. With what I have learned professionally and realistically, I can affirmatively claim that this summer has been the best of my life.

For my major, I needed to go abroad in a Spanish speaking country. My university offered a program to Madrid but being that I am from Hawaii, I knew I wanted to be near the ocean. This is when I decided I wanted to go to Barcelona. Prior to embarking on my 2019 summer internship I did extensive research to find an organization that would suit me best. Personally I wanted the most legitimate program out there, and after calling three different organizations I decided to continue with Global Experiences (GE). Once I went forward with GE, they asked me what type of internship I was looking for and I told them I would like to work with a start-up company, preferably a tech start-up. They lined up interviews for two different start-ups. I ended up interning at EcoLocal Market, a mobile app designed to promote local food by using an algorithm to discount products before they expire. I got a lot of hands on experience with website design and operating a frontend system to modify a mobile application. Without getting into too many details, the internship was an excellent fit as I worked with a start-up company last summer. Throughout the summer our GE program leaders Inma and Saskia organized multiple social events. My favorite was our group trip to Sitges beach. They both served as excellent resources and were there for us if we needed anything. Although I like to think of myself as being independent, it felt good to know that I could turn to Inma or Saskia for help. As far as the living situation, I was placed in a good area of the city that was close to everything (pharmacy, shopping, food, bars etc). I met people from other programs that were placed in apartments on the outskirts of the city, far from the action. After hearing this, I felt even better with my choice to go abroad with GE. They covered all their bases, from prepping us for our initial interviews with our companies to organizing weekend events for all of us to enjoy. This was a summer for the books!

My time in Barcelona has easily been the best of my life. Global Experiences helps every single step of the way and resolved each issue that presented itself perfectly. Saskia and Inma are so kind hearted and diligent. I recommend Global Experiences to anyone planning on studying abroad, especially in Barcelona!!

I spent the summer interning in Barcelona through Global Experiences and had an amazing experience. Barcelona is a wonderful city with so much to do and learn. Spending time interning allowed me to see the city and live in it, a very different experience from being a tourist for one or two weeks. Global Experiences gave me the opportunity to live in a beautiful apartment directly outside of La Sagrada Familia (one of Barcelona's most valued spots) with other interns from around the world. I learned not only about Barcelona's culture, but also the culture and lives of the other interns I was staying with and sharing the experience with. With my internship, I gained valuable work experience that taught a lot about my goals in life and allowed me to gain an incredible mentor who taught me a lot and provided me with a strong network of professionals to assist me in the future.

As I am writing this, it's the last Monday for me in Barcelona. My second home. Besides missing my parents and my friends back in my country Turkey, I don't want to go back. I have a great organization looking out for me, arranged the best intern, best housing, best roommates and took care of all of us everyday. Helped me and my friends when we had problems that we couldn't manage to solve. I am really happy and lucky to find Global Experiences. I consider to do another intern next year. Global Experiences provides you with everything you need before traveling abroad. They reach out through phone calls, emails, facebook groups and more. The staff is personable, helpful, and respond in an incredibly timely manner. The locations they place you in are outstanding. I was placed in an apartment with air conditioning, a washer and dryer, a kitchen, and two bathrooms. When I walk outside, I am less than 60 feet from the Sagrada Familia. Highly recommend!

I was very excited to come to Barcelona for 8 weeks to do my internship in Fashion Business. I didn’t entirely know what to expect before arriving, but my internship was challenging, interesting and very fun. I worked as a marketing intern for Flamenco designer who also providing guests with Flamenco classes. My housing was a beautiful, brand new apartment right next to the Sagrada Familia. I lived with 3 really kind, clean and amazing girls who quickly became very good friends. I’m sad to be leaving Barcelona, but so pleased with the memories and experiences I’ve made, both professionally and personally.

I had the best time this summer interning at a bespoke travel planning company through Global Experiences. Starting from day 1 of enrollment, the GE staff has been there for me through resume and cover letter support, personality tests, interview preps and in every way possible to ensure I had a placement that I would enjoy. And I did! I loved the company I got placed in and working with my bosses. We got along very well and every day at work was interesting and pushed my best self to come out! Over the transition period when we moved into Spain and throughout the summer as a whole, the GE program advisors in Barcelona have gone above and beyond in making certain that everyone has a smooth adaptation period and a great summer. From handing minor on site issues to arranging several local trips to experience the culture, the GE team has been an amazing support system! Interning abroad this summer has been an experience that I will cherish forever and the connections and friendships made here will always remain close to my heart. 10/10 would recommend grabbing this opportunity with GE because it really is more than just an internship abroad - it is a life-changing experience full of personal and professional growth!

This experienced overpassed my expectations. First of all, I was confused of working in a co-working space, and that the founder was going to be my direct boss. He taught me the way of how people should interact together in a working space, and not about competition but about growth and development and at the end creating a livable space with a great community. As an architect, I have developed the sense of dreaming about these spaces and about what do I want to do when I graduate. I am thankful for all the people I met and take a lot of good things for them. GE made an amazing work with placement in the interns and with the accommodations. I wouldn't change anything in the program. Congratulations GE, keep changing students perspective into a better and positive future that we will build!

When I interned in Barcelona through the Global Experiences program the world opened up- it was like living in paradise and having the most fun of my entire life while simultaneously developing my professional skills. GE places us in internships that fit our career goals so it’s interesting and exciting and really just incredibly fun as well. I can’t find something bad to say about the program- they provide incredible ground support on a personal level as well as on a professional level and they were honestly just some of the nicest people I have ever met in my entire life. With GE there were only positives and 100 percent I would recommend this program to anyone and everyone who wants to have a truly amazing experience.

My experience Interning abroad through global experiences in Barcelona was absolutely amazing. My on grounds supervisor, Inma, was super helpful and sweet. I got to travel, meet new people, and learn so much during my time at my internship. Truly an amazing experience and I recommend for everyone to go abroad at least once during their life.

This has changed my life, as cliche as that sounds. Ever since I signed to find out more information, I’ve felt so welcomed the moment I picked up the phone. I had some options, but Global experiences were more warm and informative from the start. I love this program and how I’ve grown and learned more than i ever have.

Best decision I have ever made was coming here. By far, it has exceeded my expectations. I felt greatly supported and secure the entire time thanks to the wonderful GE staff. My biggest concern when applying is that I wouldn't be able to get an internship specifically in the field of Human Resources as it wasn't one of the placements offered on the site for Barcelona. After communicating with them exactly what I was looking for and seeing what options I had, they found the absolute perfect placement in HR for me in my first-choice location! Any questions or concerns I had along with way were addressed and answered to my complete satisfaction. I truly felt like they went the extra mile to make sure that I was happy from start to finish (and beyond) with this program. They guided me through the whole process, gave me super useful advice and assitance on my professional documents, and made sure I was 110% prepared for everything. If you are planning to go to Spain with this program, I highly reccomend it. You will fall in love with Barcelona and it's people. Also, the Spain program Director, Inma, is is absolutely amazing! I can't even begin to explain how much this program and internship has postitively impacted my life. I loved my job here. I am really going to miss the atmosphere and the people I worked with! Not only do I get to leave here with amazing memories and new friends, but now I also have impressive job experience under my belt that already has and will continue to help me in my future career endeavors. As a recent graduate, Global Experiences was a great program to utilize as I am still determining what type of career I'm interested in pursuing and was interested in traveling before settling down. Based off of our conversations throughout the application process, my internship placement was spot on. Although I didn't feel entirely passionate about the work I was assigned, it was an excellent opportunity to learn more about what direction I would actually like to move towards in my future positions. I couldn't have asked for better employers. As I don't speak Spanish, they were always open to helping me throughout any obstacles I encountered, gave me a ton of tips about Barcelona, and were always available to answer any questions I had. As a program, Global Experiences was very helpful. My advisor was always quick to respond, and the activities she planned really gave you a taste of Barcelona. I believe it's important to also emphasize that Barcelona as a city is extremely safe, and I never once felt out of my comfort zone. All in all, I'm very happy with my experience with Global Experiences. Although I'll be returning to the U.S., I really feel as though I've found a home here in Barcelona.

Global Experiences gave me the opportunity to explore as much of the city as possible and other cities and towns nearby. They have plenty of events for the group to see different parts of Barcelona and get a chance to meet one another. I loved the different variety of events. We were doing different things each time the group met. With Global Experience, you feel like you live in the city. You're not in a dorm. You live in an apartment and your neighbors are Barcelona residents rather than other college students. Living in an apartment gave me the liberty to explore my neighborhood. Everyday I walked around my neighborhood, Sant Antoni, met people in stores or at parks and even started a gym membership. All of these things forced me to work on my Spanish-speaking skills. I think what made my experience amazing was my program directors. They were always there to help you with anything. From learning public transportation to finding the best beaches and restaurants in the city, they never failed to give you a helping hand. They wanted each program participant to have the best time of their life which made my experience one to remember. When it came to my internship... LOVED IT. My internship played a big role in helping me to explore the city. I worked with an amazing group of people in the Communications Department at Telefonica who pushed me to work on my Spanish-speaking and taught me more about Spanish culture. Thanks to Global Experiences, I am trying to plan my next trip back to Barcelona.

I admit, at first I was nervous about interning abroad especially since this was a country I had never visited before and I knew nobody in the program. But choosing to intern with GE was one of the best decisions of my life. Not only did I get an awesome internship placement, but I made lifelong friends in the program who were a part of all my abroad adventures. Being abroad for two months can definitely get to you, but your friends become your family away from your real family and the program directors do everything they can to accommodate to your needs. I had several health issues within my first month and my director was like a second mom and made sure I had everything I needed to move forward safely without any issues. It takes a little while to adjust to life abroad and to get used to a bunch of strangers, but before you know it you're traveling with them, going out with them and as the end draws near you're crying because you realize you have to leave your abroad family to go back to real life. GE gave me the best summer of my life with the best people and I highly recommend them for you abroad needs!

I had an amazing time through the Global Experience program! From start to finish our program Director Inma was enthusiastic, kind, and she was dedicated to helping each and everyone one of us have the experience of our lives! From the beginning there were several steps to better understand the students interests and what work environment they would like to be in. I really felt like the program and Inma knew everyone of our group members well and strived to place us in a perfect working area. I am a Media Studies and Production major focused on music and audio production. Inma found me an amazing place to work in Barcelona, a music studio/ co-working place. The first of this kind of internship Inma said! I had practice with setting up live performances (soundboard, lighting), recording and overdubbing bands and singers in a studio environment, and also working with sound for shooting short films! All in all it was perfect for me to gain experience in the field that I want to be in so much! In additional to a great work experience the living situation and weekend trips that were planned were also incredible. We made trips to Girona/Costa Brava, Montserrat and its Monastery, and even had a group dinner at a Flamenco show. This trip has really been one of the best decisions I've ever made and would recommend it to and prospective students looking to gain work experience, while also meeting amazing people and experiencing various cultures and food!

What a great experience! I will be forever thankful for the friends, partners, mentors, and relationships that I have made this summer, all possible because of Global Experiences! The program advisors offered us multiple events all throughout the summer to get us away from the workplace and really experience Barcelona. I now have lifelong friends because of my time here - thanks for everything !

They help you immerse yourself in Catalan culture with various events and tours, and offer positions with remarkable companies. Working in operations for a Coworking company, I was able to learn valuable skills and knowledge related CRMs, contracts, Excel and various softwaress which I definitely feel will prove usefuldown the line, especially for my entreprenuerial ambitions. The work environment is very friendly, and you can start up a conversation with just about anyone and make friends and connections from all over the world, especially since Barcelona is so diverse. Our spaces in our company were filled with bright people wanting to socialize and get to know you; Barcelona hasn't faied to make you feel welcomed. Outside of work, I've been placed riht in the heart of the city, convieniently located next to the metro station. The architecture is phenominal, the people so friendly, and the beauty of the city and the towns surrounding it are unfathomable. If you're looking for a good work experience in an exceptional iconic city, Global Experiences is the perfect organization to help arrange that for you.

I would highly recommend interning abroad in Barcelona, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I got to intern at a flamenco atelier where I got to work one on one with the owner and designer of flamenco dresses. I got to learn about the flamenco culture and how to dance to some of the different styles of flamenco which was pretty cool. Barcelona is one of my favorite cities after living here for quite some time, I got to meet life long friends from the program and learn a lot from my internship! Also, coming here made me grow as a person and become more independent do not let your fears keep you from experiencing such a great opportunity!

Global Experiences made this such an easy process from start to finish, from the time I enrolled to the time I arrived in Barcelona, and through the completion of the program. I didn't realize just how much work Inma and Saskia put into our program behind the scenes until I got here. Inma did an amazing job at placing us with our roommates and apartments. My apartment was in the beautiful neighborhood of L'Eixample, a prime location in the city, with an easy commute to work, friends apartments, shops, popular neighborhoods, beach, etc. I was placed in a finance internship in the Gracía neighborhood, home to Beta Haus. This was my first time working in a coworking space and it was the best experience I could've had. There were eight other Global Experience interns that worked for different companies in Beta Haus and we all met some amazing people from around the world. Inma and Saskia planned amazing excursions/day trips and I highly recommend that you go on ALL of them! It's a great way to meet everyone in your program and create memories that will last a lifetime. Barcelona is a city with endless opportunities and there is always something to do. Go out and find new clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants. Go for a hike, bike or run and explore beautiful Barcelona and all of its hidden gems. Make the most of the time you have in this city because it will go by VERY fast!

Interning abroad through Global Experiences was indubitably the best summer of my life. I could not of asked for a better experience that challenged me and developed me into an improved version of myself... while having the best times and creating the best memories. 10/10 experience that every one who has the opportunity should take part in.

When I imagined the perfect internship, I pictured myself on my feet, tackling new problems every day, interacting with people and having each moment be different than the last. With that guidance, the staff at Global Experiences found me the perfect internship at an international preschool in Barcelona. I was impressed with how dedicated they were and how frequently they stayed in contact with me to update me on the process. Every question I had was answered in a timely and enthusiastic manner, and any worry was addressed and assuaged so that I felt confident and prepared to embark on this great new adventure that awaited me. My internship at Escuela Happy Way was everything I could have asked for, and everything I did ask for. With some classrooms having up to twenty students, there was never a dull moment and I was never without something to do. The staff treated me as if I was part of their family from day one, and their friendliness and warmth made it much easier to acclimate to the new environment. They always took the time to be patient with me and communicate with me despite the language barrier, even if it would be easier not to. The teachers at Happy Way are some of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met, and it was a joy to be among them for those three months. The open and attentive environment there has allowed the children to blossom, and interacting with them was easily my favorite part of the day. There is little that can match the happiness that comes with the sound of the children calling my name when I entered the classroom, or seeing them run to give me a hug goodbye. There are so many simple moments that carry within them so much joy, like hearing a child remember to say "thank you," or feeling them slip their small hand into mine, unprompted. The tuition for Global Experiences may cover housing and the excursions, but there no price for the moments such as these, or personal fulfillment and growth that will follow.

The three months I spent in Barcelona will undoubtedly prove to be one of the most invaluable experiences of my life. I left a city I fell in love with with a new perspective on my own professional aspirations, the world in general, and my place within it. Through guidance and continual support, Global Experiences helped me grow as a person, exposed me to a new culture, and pushed me to be the best young professional that I can be. So, if you’re on the fence, or are scared of the uncertainty, DON’T BE! You’re signing up for an adventure of a lifetime. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Global Experiences has given me the opportunity of a lifetime. I am a recent college grad who was looking for more work experience before joining the work force but also wanted the opportunity to travel. My advisor from Global Experiences helped me obtain a three-month internship with one of Barcelona's largest coworking spaces. This placement was the perfect fit for me and has not only allowed me to gain experience in a field I want to pursue, event planning, but also in communications, marketing, and office management. This internship has not only taught me a lot but has given me more clarity and direction as to what I want to do in the future. With this internship I have been given the chance to co-manage quite a few events that have been held within our coworking space along with externally. For example, I was given the opportunity to help my coworking space plan their second anniversary party. I was in charge of finding a caterer for the party and setting up the raffle, which incorporated different prizes from companies within our coworking space. I loved that with this internship they gave me more responsibilities and placed more trust in me as an intern then in internships past. This program to me has been worth every penny. They not only placed me with an amazing internship but my advisor here has set up amazing social events for us that were included in our GE tuition. Our advisor has shown us the city through a local’s eye by taking us on a bike tour of the Gothic quarter or bringing us up to coast of Spain to the beautiful beaches of Sitges. These events that my Global Experience advisor has put on are some of my best memories here in Spain. From paella lunches, cooking classes, and day trips to amazing cities of Spain I feel like I have truly seen it all. I am so happy I chose to participate in a internship abroad with Global Experiences I can’t express how great of an opportunity it is and how many doors this company has open for me.

When first arriving to a new country, knowing your going to be here for a while, it can be very nerve racking. Looking back on it I really appreciate Global experiences for providing me with this opportunity to live in Barcelona. I was able to immerse myself into a new culture in a way I've never been able to before. They have the kindest people working in the program that do everything they can to make this venture fun, educational and safe from start to finish. I met some of the most amazing people from all over the world and made great professional contacts. Our contact in Barcelona, Inma, taught us a lot about the traditions here through different excursions we would take together. There has been bumps along the way but Inma helped everyone in the program get through it! I cant wait to return to Barcelona and hopefully bring my family so they can fall in love with this place just like I did.

My personal experience this summer was something I will never forget! Finding our program Global Experiences was one of the best decisions I could've made for this summer. I highly enjoyed my internship they matched me with and the people I worked with were incredible also. Global Experiences introduced me to a whole new perspective towards the world around us and wanting to travel more. I will cherish these memories I've made here and the new relationships I've formed while working in Barcelona. Also, this experience will look incredible later on when added to my resume. I have been pleased with all aspects of my study abroad experience with Global Experiences (GE). I remember searching for programs in Barcelona, and I wasn't aware of GE, and I contacted their office to learn more about their program. After talking to their representatives and finding out what the program provides, I knew I had to sign up immediately. I was very impressed with the amount of professional help give their participants. They were very informative with what a standard Barcelona resume and cover letter should look like. Furthermore, they set up a phone call for a professional that gave me feedback on my professional content that was going to be sent out to potential employers and me. The provided housing couldn't have been better. My job is five blocks away from my apartment, and my roommates were fantastic (thanks to the roommate survey). My internship has been exceptional not only because it is with the top pr/marketing firm in the world, Edelman, but also because of the skills and abroad connections I have made. Our Program Director, Inma, has been a god sent. She has shown great knowledge about the area and has always been there for us whether good or bad. As I near the end of my stay in Barcelona, I think back to everything I have done and experienced, and I can't thank Global Experiences enough for all that they have done. Global experiences is great! This program gave me the professional experience I needed all while spending the summer in an amazing city! The location coordinators go out of their way to provide you with the perfect internship as well as make you feel comfortable while staying in your host city. This is an experience I'll never forget and I know it will help further my career in the future! This program has also made me realize how much I love to travel so I can't wait to come back to Barcelona one day!

This was my first internship and I have to say Global experience did an awesome job. The team at GE helped me from start to finish by finding me work and accommodation. I also have to give a special thanks to Inma (GE program director for Barcelona) for helping me and all the other interns settle in our new environment and for helping us explore the amazing city that is Barcelona. I can honestly say that this experience has helped me to grow as an individual and as a young professional entering the work force. Coming to Barcelona I had one goal, live to embrace. With the help of GE and my fellow interns, thats exactly what I did. It is very difficult to pick one favourite moment as there was so many, but one of my favourite memories was visiting an area called Bunkers which allows you to oversee the beautiful city.

Global Experiences was FANTASTIC! The staff was awesome throughout the entire process from professional development to getting me an internship to the support while I was actually in Barcelona. Inma was the best program director that you could ask for, always willing to help and looking for fun things to do for you and your friends. I met people that I am sure I will be friends with for a lifetime. I wish that I could stay for longer than 2 months but I know I will be coming back soon enough. It was my first time over seas and Global Experiences made it an experience that I will absolutely never forget!

I first heard of Global Experiences from a friend who had been in the Barcelona program and said it changed his life. I decided to apply after reading so many good reviews saying that it was the best way to grow as a student who wanted an experience working abroad. And wow were they right - prior to even leaving for the trip I felt like I was being prepared and set up for success in my internship. I had support every step of the process and really felt like I was growing as a student, into a young professional. Although I had a flight delay on my way to Barcelona, which put a slight bump in the road, I was met immediately upon my arrival by the Barcelona program coordinator, Inma. She was incredibly reassuring and showed me around the area to make me comfortable and feel at home. From then on, I always felt like I could reach out to her when I had any questions or even when I needed suggestions for places to get good paella or authentic Spanish food. What I was even more impressed by was how perfect my housing and internship placement was. For my housing, I was placed with people who were from all different cultures, some Americans, Italians, a Mexican and even a German and Slovakian girl at one point. My living situation was a bit different than others because it was a large apartment and some of my flatmates were only living there for a limited time. I chose this living arrangement though, so I had the opportunity to meet as many people as possible and I am so happy with my decision. We had an excellent location close to the centre of the city and the apartment was great, with everything we needed. For my internship placement, I couldn't have been happier. After doing the preparation with G.E. prior to leaving, they learned what my strengths are and what kind of company would be the best match for me. From this, they found the perfect company - one that is just as positive, outgoing and open minded as I am. I instantly felt comfortable in my company and slowly began feeling like I found a second family right in Barcelona. During my time at work, I was given the opportunity to gain more and more responsibility. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and learned things I would've never thought I would've learned in a marketing and communications internship. I even got to attend the Mobile World Congress event, an international convention that happens once a year in Barcelona - where we launched an app that we had been working on for many weeks leading up to the event. I learned how to pitch to other companies and even investors - which gave me a taste of the sales world and sparked some interest in possibly pursuing sales along with marketing at some point. I feel like I had the opportunity to explore so many different types of tasks that really helped me feel like I could do anything I want as long as I'm open to learning and putting myself out there - even if it means not being successful at it right away. The activities that were planned by Global Experiences were a blast as well! We did a city bike tour, a wine and tapas tour, went to the Magic Fountain Show and made a trip to Montserrat Mountain. It was really fun to do things as a group and the professional development workshop we did was really helpful as well. I never would have thought 3 months of working abroad would have me crying upon my departure because I didn't want to leave. Although I was sad to leave, the amazing experience I had with G.E. gave me that much more of a push to stay motivated at home to follow my dreams. Overall - Global Experiences was a 10/10 experience, I don't think I would have had the same experience or opportunities with any other abroad program. I truly grew as a young professional and learned to find comfort in taking on new challenges in a new culture, 4000 miles away from home. Because of my experience, I plan on returning to Barcelona, my home away from home, after I graduate to work and continue my adventures in the culture and city I have fallen head over heels in love with.

I've had a wonderful stay in Barcelona. It is an amazing city!! Global Experiences went above and beyond to get me this internship and without exaggerating, the last half year here has been one of the best experiences in my life! Inma, who is the contact person here in Barcelona is absolutely wonderful and she will tell you everything you need to know about Barcelona! If you go for it 200%, Barcelona will embrace you with it's wonderful secrets, places, crazy memories, wonderful history, unique people, with the good and the bad! The city has a magnificent pull that will always will make you come back!

Going to Barcelona with GE was a great decision! I was able to get hands on experience with a travel company doing content creation for their social media platforms. Although you would think working in a foreign country would be a bit scary, the work culture in Barcelona is far less intimidating and more welcoming than in the United States - a great place for those starting to enter the workforce. During my time in Barcelona I was able to meet locals, improve my Spanish, and learn about the history and culture of such a vibrant city. The international nature of the city means that so many other people are also trying to get involved and make friends so it is very easy to find activities and join in. Our program coordinator Inma had great tips on things to do in the city and how to get involved, she was a wonderful support system. Overall amazing experience, I am so glad I went to Barcelona!

Couldn't be happier with my decision to choose Barcelona as my host country. My internship with the software company Vreasy definitely met my exceptions, it gave me the perfect opportunity to work in a field I am interested in and I definitely feel like it will help me land my dream job in the future. Our Program coordinator Inma was amazing! she was extremely knowledgable and planned fun and educating excursions every week. I've tried to get abroad for years, but things kept falling through with my school. It's been a dream to live abroad and Global Experiences finally allowed that to happen for me! This summer was incredible. I saw so many amazing places that were so easy to travel to from Barcelona, and the city itself had so much going on. From incredible street performers to some of the best food I've tasted...I didn't want to leave! It's going to be impossible to beat this summer, and the cherry on top of it all was the loving and amazing Location Coordinator, Inma. She helped make sure this was the best summer ever!

Thank you Global Experiences for a summer of fun and learning! I worked an internship in the tourism industry in Barcelona. I had a blast! The city offered so much to do that in my 2 months here I feel like the opportunities are still endless of new things I could do with my free time. I grew professionally and individually throughout this trip and would recommend it to anyone who is curious about living in another culture. My eyes have truly been opened and I know that I am going home with an unforgettable experience and new friendships. So happy I spent my summer with Global Experiences!

I immensely enjoyed my time in Barcelona because I had an AMAZING internship placement. The work culture perfectly fit my personality as well as my experience/career goals. If you're thinking about going abroad through GE I would advise you to be completely honest and as detailed as you can be about your expectations so they can find you the best fit possible. You might be thinking it's a tad expensive. It is. But that's because it includes everything. My apartment was perfect. I cannot tell you how much I loved it. And the landlord was so prompt about fixing any issues we had with the apartment. Our apartment even included bi-weekly cleaning! It was a block and a half away from a metro station. Speaking of which, your metro pass is paid! You have no idea how stressful it is to try and plan out transportation with a limited pass. But GE takes the stress out of it with an unlimited pass. How thoughtful. There are also various social events which make sure you experience all of the must-see's and must-do's you otherwise wouldn't see/do because (let's face it) we're broke college kids. As always, you get out what you put in.

I highly recommend this program. Not only my internship was awesome but the housing and people I met too. It's an amazing program and I would encourage everyone to try it out, you won't regret it !!!!

Global Experiences made the job of finding the perfect summer internship in Spain possible for me. In the midst of trying to network my way to any kind of job opportunity in Europe, stumbling upon GE was a life saver. My internship itself ended up being a great match for me, and I learned a ton about Public Relations as well as nearly perfecting my Spanish. I had an excellent experience in Barcelona this summer, and I felt like I could wander further out of my comfort zone and try new things and take bigger risks because I knew that If I ever faced challenges I couldn't overcome on my own, I would have someone from GE right there who had the experience and training to help get me through whatever the situation was.
