Program Overview

Spend the summer in the idyllic Alpine city of Grenoble, France, with AIFS Abroad! You’ll earn up to 5 credits through an Intensive French Language Program at the Université Grenoble Alpes. Courses are taught in English and French; no previous French language study is required.

Live in a French homestay and receive breakfast, dinner, and laundry services. For an additional fee, select a shared room in a student residence and receive a meal allowance. All housing has internet access.

You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as:
• Guided walking tours
• Visits to local museums such as Musée de Grenoble, Musée Archéologique Saint Laurent, and Musée Dauphinois
• French cooking classes
• Cable car rides over the city
• Hiking trips
• Day trips to Lyon, Chamonix, Annecy, Chamrousse, Chartreuse, and Vercors.

An optional 2-day excursion to Provence is available. A 2-night tour of London is included for students on the AIFS Abroad Flight Package.

It was wonderful!

The thought of packing my bag and go to a new country that has a different culture and language from the ones I know was quite nerve-wracking. However, AIFS did a lot to help make the whole study abroad process goes as smoothly as possible. The admission counselor was quick to answer any questions and provided me all the information that I needed before departure. Once all the students arrived in Grenoble, my amazing resident director gave us a tour of the city, taught us how to use public transportation, and provided all the necessary information we need to navigate the new lifestyle. My time in Grenoble allowed me to meet amazing people and learn about a new culture. Thanks to AIFS, my overall study abroad experience was wonderful.
