Agualivar Spanish School Reviews
The modern way to learn a language

Spanish immersion at Agualivar was just as I had hoped. The three teachers [Carmen, Estafañia and Elizabeth] run a very effective immersion program. They identify quickly your learning style and adapt to suit. The classes were well structured and every runs like clockwork. Having classes with each of the three teachers is a really good idea. One suggestion is to have a board telling students where their class is and who will be your teacher. [ exception being weather].
The beautiful house with the Mediterranean sea, the pool, orchards, gardens and even chickens makes it relaxing with very healthy food options. Jose and Carmen, parents of the teachers are such an added bonus to making you feel at home and they do challenge you to speak Spanish only. My room was so comfortable with a fabulous view of the infinity pool and the Sea.
After meal conversations and local outings were perfect for practising Spanish with guidance nearby. The levels of Spanish that were there in my three weeks were from beginners to quite advanced. There is a level of stress speaking Spanish all the time that is natural. You need to be prepared for this. It can be really stressful especially for beginners but with patient teachers and a group with the right attitude the stress can be managed. The teachers do try and use humor to help. I recommend that beginners know some basic conversation like My name is; What's your name? ; Where do you come from?; I work as a teacher; I'm retired; I like fish but I don't like clams, that sort of thing. The rest can come later.
The outings were all enjoyable. I was expecting a bit more interaction with locals during the outings. Being put in the hot seat and made to speak and listen is invaluable and how often do you have a teacher right beside you to lean on when you need a little help. Many times I wished I had for example, Carmen standing beside me coaching me through a conversation. All the teachers are great fun and while I at times got pushed hard in class I appreciate everything they did for me. Thank you to all of you and yes I highly recommend this as a spanish immersion. Be prepared to work hard and have fun.
What a fantastic learning experience

Qué experiencia tan increíble! I cant recommend this Spanish immersion school highly enough. Not only did I improve my Spanish (from very little ) to a point where I could comfortably navigate myself around the beautiful towns of Andalucia, asking questions and understanding answers that would not have been possible before but I also felt I had made lifelong friends of the wonderfully kind, patient and generous family that runs la escuela Agualivar.
When I started to look for a Spanish immersion school I knew that I didn’t want classes in a college classroom instead I wanted a friendly, patient, and immersive atmosphere in a beautiful location that would force me to practice everything I was learning. So I enlisted the help of my good friend Google to try and track down my perfect school, and almost instantly the Agualivar school popped up and I immediately knew this was the place for me……… and how right I was.
The villa itself is beautifully located. Las maestras Fani and Eli are excellent and patient teachers who know how to make things clear even while only using Spanish (and other educational tools). The food, grown in their own huerta by Papa Jose and cooked by Mama Carmen, was outstanding in its freshness, variety and deliciousness. The workshops and field trips truly enhanced the whole experience.
So If youre looking for Spanish immersion in an almost vacation atmosphere with some of the nicest people on the planet … don’t think twice - choose The Agualivar school, you won’t regret it!
Two weeks in Malaga

The reviews are all spot on: the hospitality of the family, the food, the surroundings, all true. It felt as much like a retreat from the busy world as a school. A place to slow down, take a deep breath, and look out at the mediterranean sea before you. And, of course learn Spanish.
I was very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of Eli and Fani. They were able to target areas that I needed to work on grammatically, and in such a small group I was able to ask as many questions as I needed to understand the concept completely. They went out of their way to help me with the pronunciation of a few letters that have been giving me trouble for years. It was very helpful!
But it didn't stop there. I spoke Spanish after class, during lunch, excursions, dinner and everywhere in between. The entire family was exceptionally patient, letting me finish my sentences and thoughts (which can take a while in another language!). They welcomed me into their family and I felt right at home. I definitely hope to return again. There is nothing quite as helpful as immersion for learning a language, and Agualivar is doing a great job of providing it!

I am sure that this is the best place on the planet to study Spanish. After 3 booked weeks I was able to tag on 2 more. I learned a ton while having the best time of my life... The entire family lives for their students and each of them go way beyond the call of duty. You will find a new family and home here. Top quality and personalized classes, non-stop effort 24/7 by excellent, passionate, caring and up-beat instructors - Eli & Fani. Kindness and Love from everyone, including Carmen & Pepe (parents). Gorgeous place, great location, food out of this world, wonderful activities and excursions. In 5 weeks I couldn't think of anything they could improve. You can come with the highest expectations and they will exceed it! No comparison to any other language school/immersion place. Only trouble is that it's addictive and you'll want to come back over and over again! Muchas gracias a mi familia espanola :)

Many years ago, I attended a Spanish immersion program in Mexico. In a short period of time, I learned much of that wonderful language. I decided to, once again, participate in an immersion program. What better place to study Spanish than Spain? The many positive reviews received by Agualivar convinced me that this was the perfect place for my wife and me to study. The reviews were correct! The classes were tailored for our individual needs. The all-day use of our learning made it possible to advance beyond our expectations.
Anyone who truly wants to learn Spanish should strongly consider Agualivar. The beauty of the surroundings, the superb food, and the warm family atmosphere are bonuses!
