ARCTI INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME – KENYA

Are you passionate about counseling, psychology, mental health, social work, education, or community service? ARCTI, founded in 2006 and based in Nakuru, Kenya, welcomes international volunteers from Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, Africa, and beyond.

Volunteers can gain practical experience while supporting communities through:

• Group counseling in schools, churches, and community settings
• One-on-one support in our peaceful Healing Garden
• Peer counselor training and capacity building
• Mental health awareness and community outreach

Experience Kenya beyond tourism—connect with local communities, exchange knowledge, develop professional skills, and make a meaningful difference.

Accommodation: Wamuthere Gardens
Program Fee: US$15 per day, including accommodation, meals, and supervision
Recognition: Certificate of Participation and Reference Letter

Who can apply for the volunteer programme?

The program is open to international volunteers, students, professionals, gap-year participants, and anyone interested in counseling, psychology, mental health, social work, education, community development, or community service.

Do I need professional counselling qualifications?

No. Previous counseling or mental health experience is beneficial but not always required. Volunteers are expected to work within their level of training and receive appropriate guidance and supervision from ARCTI.

What activities will I participate in?

Depending on your interests and experience, you may participate in group counseling support, individual supportive activities, peer counselor training, mental health awareness, school programs, and community outreach.

How much does the programme cost, and what is included?

The program costs US$15 per day, which includes accommodation at Wamuthere Gardens, meals, and supervision during your placement.

What will I receive after completing my placement?

Volunteers who successfully complete their placement receive an ARCTI Certificate of Participation and a Reference Letter recognising their contribution and experience.
