Once in a lifetime opportunity
December 15, 2023by: Sophie Livermore - United StatesAction Quest gave me a opportunity that I never would see myself doing, In 3 weeks I was able to learn to scuba dive, sail and make friends, The people I met inspired and encouraged me and made me feel like they were my family, I felt safe and respected by everyone there, I’m proud to call Action Quest my second home!!
Best Time Ever
December 15, 2023by: Parker Fields - United StatesHaving been to an action quest camp for 2 years it has easily been the best thing I have ever done. From living on a boat with some of the coolest people to diving the most beautiful places in the world every second of the camp is amazing.

Beyond our expectations!
December 15, 2023by: MdmThe three times our daughter has participated in Action Quest summer camps all three have surpassed ours and her expactations, in all aspects. It has giving her so much confidence, knowledge, it has helped empower her to become an independent and resposible teen. Ready for her next adventure, anywhere she so chooses!
I wouldn’t trade my time at AQ for the world.
December 15, 2023by: Grace Berry - United StatesI loved my experience at Action Quest so much, I ended up going three years in a row! The BVIs are such an amazing place and the sailing, scuba, and activities make it even more rewarding. I’ve also made some of my life long friends at AQ, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Exceeded Every Expectation
December 15, 2023by: Maddie N - United StatesThis experience absolutely blew my mind. You are surrounded with the best people, while having the time of your life. We live on a sailboat for either 17 or 21 days, learning to sail, scuba dive, as well as many other activities. The counselors and staff are the best I have ever had at a camp, always supporting, encouraging, and helping us along the way. The community that is built on your boat is one of a kind, I have made lifelong friends who come from all over the world. Furthermore, you are able to learn and improve many life skills, like teamwork, collaboration, or small things like cooking and cleaning. Some may think that close quarters is frustrating and cramped, but I have never minded, it teaches you to share your space and made me even closer with my roommates. Additionally, we are able to learn and explore the beautiful BVI's. You develop such a love for the islands, and some programs even get to help restore the BVI's from past hurricane damage. I have done the Vega and Carina programs, furthering my diving and sailing skills each year. I have no negative memory from camp, except from the day that we had to leave and go home. Being in the fleet is such an empowering and amazing feeling, whether it was race day or barbeques at Sandy Spit. I have had so many people at school and back home ask about ActionQuest, asking me how it was and wondering if they should go. Every single time, I always encourage them. I truly believe that this was the best experience I could ever ask for. Compared to every other summer/sleepaway camp I've done, the community created outdoes everything else. When I walked into the marina for my second year, I immediately was greeted by my friends and counselors from the year before. The memories created aboard will never leave you, and the family that you form with your "shippies" will live on forever. ActionQuest most definitely exceeded every single expectation that I had.

ActionQuest
December 15, 2023by: Player Fields - United StatesI would suggest this program to anyone. I met some of my best friends, learned so much about diving and sailing, and even used it to get into all my desired colleges by writing my essay about my experience.

Nowhere on earth like ActionQuest
December 15, 2023by: Catalina Männil - EstoniaMy whole family has engaged in Action Quest's programs. I specifically went to please my family, yet I found myself having the time of my life. During my time in the Vega program, I made friends, had unforgettable experiences, and got to know cultures and areas I otherwise wouldn't have been exposed to. When people ask me what I do during summer, I jump at the chance to say: I spent 3 weeks sailing the caribbean and getting "scuba certy" with 11 other kids at THE summer camp known as Action Quest. The first questions I most frequently recieve are: How did you all fit on a sail boat? How did you sleep? and, What did you eat? To which I reply: We managed our space well thanks to our VERY organized and well-prepped counselors, We often slept on the tramp at the bow like burritos and we'd fall asleep quite easily to the smell of salty air, the star-filled sky, and the slight sound of the ever so often coming gusts of wind. The cooking, on the other hand, fell into the explanation of the chore chart and how, even as lazy teenagers, we'd come together and pull our load! Experience wise, AQ gave me everything they had to offer, the staff were always present, aware, and engaging. As I'd experienced a serious alergic reaction to a jellyfish sting years prior which led to a three day hospital visit, the day I arrived I met with James who assured me they'd do their best to keep me safe, with epi-pens on board, extra shower buckets if necessary, etc. The activities were fun but always required safety (which was greatly appreciated on those wakeboarding wipeouts), the "townhalls" with Mike brought the community together, our trip to spanish town brought only laughs to our crowd, the bbq night was filled with dance and sights of pure joy. After every dinner we'd have our nightly session of "squeeze" where the skipper otd would pose a question to which everyone would contribute a special and unique answer, and if we got lucky, we'd get a special guest appearance from the 3 ft long barracudas swimming below us. When a boat had a covid outbreak, it was delt with flawlessly and all of us took the required measures to keep healthy. Action Quest for me was a life changing experience that taught me independence, responsability, compassion, and more importantly, it brought me closer to the world of sailing and diving of which I'm so fond of. Now, I know I could keep spouting about the wonders of AQ endlessly so I'll keep it short and mention simply one more thing. Do it. Go. and don't miss out because I PROMISE you won't regret it.

The best experience I’ve ever had!
September 15, 2022by: Daria Scharf - United StatesAction Quest provided me with a second home and family. Currently, my favorite people on the entire planet are the ones that were on my boat this past session. Scuba diving and sailing are the most amazing activities ever, and I cannot believe I was able to breathe underwater and see many creatures you never get to see on a regular basis. Sailing is so calming and it helped me to forget everything stressful in my life and just focus on the waves and horizon. I seriously cannot say enough about how close I got to my shipmates and the impact they've had on me as a person. I hope that everyone can experience something like this once in their life, and I am so grateful to have done so myself. The best thing about Action Quest is the people that you meet; there are no connections like the ones you make living on a boat with someone.

Great learning and social experience
October 27, 2021by: Jodi Tan - United StatesSuperb program for sailing, diving and marine biology. But even better for learning social skills - independence, confidence, teamwork. All the staff on the boats were awesome. My child could not stop talking about the amazing crew. He came back with an increased appreciation of his creature comforts at home, but also with the confidence that he can adapt to physical discomfort. He can't wait to be back next summer and has kept in touch with all the kids from his boat. Because of Covid, the travel requirements for BVI were onerous. AQ's procedures were thorough and helped us prepare all the documentation. However, AQ's stated policy is that students arriving late will not be admitted. My child's flight was canceled 8 hours before flight time; the rebooked flight was delayed 6 hours because the airline crew was not available. 4 kids, including mine, were late to the program but AQ made arrangements to put them up in a hotel and let them join their boats the next day. We are so grateful that AQ was able to make the accommodation. Given the uncertainty with travel and the now frequent flight delays and cancellations, I hope AQ will revise their late arrivals policy.
Fantastic experience!
October 21, 2021by: Nina Nelson - United StatesOur son is definitely more confident, talkative, empathetic and motivated about his future after coming back from his trip. The perfect combination of independence, co-living, learning and no electronics! I loved having the blogs to read, so kudos for those. On a non-CoVid year, I could see that this is a well-worn path that AQ has perfected over the years, but they should be commended for stepping up and adapting to the CoVid testing, restrictions, and challenges this summer presented.

Great life experience for my teenage child
October 12, 2021by: Jeffrey Richman - United StatesIt was a great experience for my child. Not only fun but for growth as a person and for learning teamwork and some independence and responsibility. Beyond the training, I think it is great preparation for life. Teenagers are put in a position where they are away from their parents interference, away from devices and with total strangers and have to work together to get through each day. Everyone has responsibilities and expectations. This is not a luxury boat where someone is serving them and pampering them. They have to take care of themselves and others and be part of a team. That can be difficult to replicate at home. I think it has left my child with the sense that when he goes off to college, he can take care of himself and work with a group of strangers.
Best summer experience
October 09, 2021by: Anzie Wiseman - United StatesAction Quest has been one of, if not the best, opportunities of my life and I wish that everyone could have the opportunity to experience it, because everything is truly amazing. Everything. But seriously, the diving, sailing, marine biology, etc are great but you can’t beat the people. The people you meet are what really make the program special.
Go beyond - an amazing experience
September 10, 2019by: David Madden - United KingdomThis is an opportunity to offer our congratulations to all of the Go Beyond team for delivering an amazing, wholly immersive and truly inspiring experience which will stay with our Son for many years to come. Our Son thoroughly enjoyed the experience of tagging turtles, and he felt very honoured to be able to do a small bit to assist in the reconstruction of the BVI. Moreover, he much enjoyed meeting so many new friends from across the world. All in all an amazing experience for him - he has grown up enormously as a consequence - thank you.
Sailing and diving
September 10, 2019by: Suzanne Trecco - United StatesBoth my son and daughter have been lucky enough to have experienced the sailing and diving program in the BVI's for two summers each. Their personal growth and increased self confidence was noticeable after each time. The friends and staff will be a part of their life for ever. Just a unique and incredible experience. We are very thankful to the ActionQuest Family!
ActionQuest Neptune
September 06, 2019by: Ben Manning - United StatesSigning up was a breeze, when I called all the people I talked to knew what they were talking about. The travel agent, Leah was especially helpful. Loved the smiley faces on portal for what needed to be done. Our son came back more confident and mature. With having to do things out of his usual box, he learned new skills, made new friends and had a great time. Boats were clean, great staff, excellent communication which allows you to relax because you know your teen is in great hands!
An amazing experience!
August 27, 2019by: Hope Urbanovsky - United StatesAction Quest is an amazing program that allows students to challenge themselves on a daily basis in every aspect from the diving, sailing, and even living in close quarters with others. Living on a boat and having to take on responsibilities is something you can't find at typical summer camps. It helps students gain a better sense of the world, people, and themselves! Summer at Action Quest is something I can never stop thinking about. The programs are so much fun. Although they do come with their challenges and sometimes your boat goes through rough patches, at the end of the day the low moments are what you learn from and are what make the high ones more memorable.
Fabulous trip!!!
September 24, 2018by: Lynne Greer - United StatesThe quality of the staff was amazing. Our daughter also reports that the trip was very flexible and tailored to the varied interests of the many participants. She said that it was “one of the best trip experiences she has ever had”.
Absolutely amazing!
September 22, 2018by: Sephena Mann - United StatesI had an awesome experience learning, exploring and engaging. It was an amazing experience. Each day was filled with a new adventure. The staff was supportive. The memories and friendships are everlasting. Definitely returning for another program!
Experiences instead of "things!"
September 17, 2018by: RJ Kiddoo - United States“xperiences are essential in helping our children successfully maneuver through life. This program is the poster child for this ideology. There was not one "thing" I could have gotten my daughter that would have replaced this experience. In addition--sign up, payments, flight booking, etc. was so smooth and everyone was very helpful. Living in New Mexico made the flights a little tricky, but it all went perfectly. I do not know of any disciplinary or medical emergencies. I expect bumps, bruises, and maybe a spat or two. It appears my daughter was on "The Love Boat" so they seemed to have worked all that out. I love, love, love the blog and Facebook updates. We all lived vicariously through her for those 17 days. It is a great way to update parents and I am guessing makes those who want phone calls more relaxed.
Best summer ever
September 13, 2018by: Meg H - United StatesThe instructors were incredible, I loved the character-building aspects of the trip like life works forums and Mike’s cards, I was able to make close friends and the diving was absolutely incredible! I also enjoyed the community service day and the fun traditions throughout the trip. It is really cool to be learning about marine biology then seeing that new knowledge in action on dives. But the character building aspect to the trip made it transformative. Being able to think about your relationships and your impact on the earth and people around you as you were learning and making friends and soaking in the beautiful landscape made me really look at my life differently.
The most amazing and life-changing camp experience!
September 11, 2018by: Phoebe Farrell - United StatesThis camp is one of the greatest experiences that I’ve ever had! The people you meet and how close your relationships become is unlike any other! You get so many great opportunities to do amazing things that you wouldn’t get to do at any regular summer camp. This camp will have you leaving with life long memories, amazing friendships, skills unlike any other, and have you wanting to come back again and again! I’m not gonna lie at first I though there wouldn’t be a lot of good options for food but, let me tell you the food was outstanding! Every night there was something new and I got to try foods I’d never had before! I loved everything we got to experience on this trip and loved all the skills we got to learn along with helping the islands! think that even though you leave with all of these amazing skills the best part for me about action quest was the friendships that I got to have and still have!
The best time ever!
September 07, 2018by: Nancy L. - United StatesMy son Alex had the time of his life, learned a lot and came back home so happy. He didn't want to come back. He would go back next year in a heart beat. I love the fact that the kids take care of cooking, cleaning etc. That its not a "cruise" but a real camp on a boat. Its FANTASTIC and I could not be happier. Seeing his smiling face in all the pictures, getting his calls with him so happy and relaxed has been priceless.
Gets kids out of their comfort zone!
September 06, 2018by: Patrick Turner - United StatesOur daughter not only had an amazing time with incredible experiences but she learned a lot about herself. She's gained a new confidence and continues to have a more clear picture of where she's heading in the future. The blog was the best part for us. It helped us know she was doing great and having fun. What a relief! Our daughter has gained a lot of confidence and self-awareness as a result of the experience. ActionQuest does an incredible job of getting kids out of their comfort zone. Staff was great. Equipment was top notch!
This just may change your child’s life!
September 05, 2018by: Amy S - United StatesWe feel very fortunate to have found ActionQuest. From start to finish, the program exceeded all of our expectations. Beginning with first contact, Kelly Swartzbaugh did an excellent job answering questions about the program, allowing us to instantly see ActionQuest was going to live up to their high reviews. Leah Hernandez went above and beyond addressing any and all trip and travel needs. In short, program is organized and professionally run by educated and empathetic employees who clearly have a love for dive, sailing, sea life and the BVI and it’s people! If you want a fantastic adventure for your child and are concerned about safety, reputation, communication and are not willing to compromise - As a parent, I would definitely recommend ActionQuest. As for my daughter’s opinion , the smile on her face since she returned home, the sincerity in her voice when she says it was the best time of her life, and her eagerness to do it all again - well that says it all!
My son had an amazing experience with Action Quest - for two years in a row!
September 04, 2018by: Maggie K - United States“Our son just completed his 2nd year with AQ and loves the program. I believe that your Participant Portal is an excellent resource. During the program our son had a few difficult days and when I reached out to AQ - Travis was most helpful and a good listener and we came up with successful tactics in how to approach our son. Once he worked out his feelings - he got right back on track and Loved his trip!!! We love AQ for our son. We appreciate the independence he must muster and the team work that results from every participant working to a common goal. AQ truly is responsive in wanting your child to have a lasting and memorable experience. AQ cannot over communicate. it is good to hear from the "Powers that be". I really liked that there was more service involved in the islands this year. I believe in "many helping hands make for light work!" I do believe that a few hours of service is critical to these participants to see that they need to give back too - they "take from the community and need to give back"
Recommend for any adventurous teen!
August 31, 2018by: Monette Chilson - United StatesThe depth of the program and the way to teaches important life lessons within a program that is both fun and rewarding for the students. I find that both years my son attended, he returned with such huge emotional growth! I love that expectations are clear. I look forward to reading the blog the whole time he's gone. I especially appreciate that the kids write them. That is just another great example of Action Quest empowering the kids to take ownership of their experience! I can't even put into words the confidence and broadened world view my son has both times he's returned from an Action Quest trip.
Just the beginning for our daughter!
August 30, 2018by: Fran Sterling - United StatesMy daughter loved the program, learned all the skills she wanted, felt it was a wonderful and supportive experience and as parents, we felt the communication and support were excellent. Our daughter's desire to continue her interest in marine life and SCUBA was not only met but nurtured and sparked. She returned confident, empowered, and having a positive group experience. She is already saving for next year and exploring her passion for marine biology and international work. On a side note. We have had our daughter in several overnight summer camps over the years and this experience is the first one that has grabbed her with the perfect mix of activity, leadership, time to play and learn and (of course) being on the water helped. But this is a sincere endorsement of the balance of the program and working with students who are living together in very close proximity and taking wonderful risks together. Thank you!
Can't wait to return!
August 30, 2018by: Theresa Whitehurst - United StatesActionQuest is a wonderfully balanced program where the kids gain tremendous personal growth and confidence, make long time friends, and learn far more than they ever realize; all while in a beautiful, fun and supportive environment. And, the staff is beyond awesome!! This was my son's second voyage with ActionQuest. The experience was again, amazing as the balance of learning and FUN is perfect. These voyages get my son out of his comfort zone and disconnected from the electronic world; which really affords him significant personal growth in life skills and leadership. There are lots of great programs out there, but ActionQuest makes it super difficult to choose another! Can't wait to return!
Wouldn't change a thing!
August 27, 2018by: Evva Murray - United StatesMy son had the most amazing experience a she kept talking about his adventures weeks after he returned home It was the best decision we made. He made wonderful friendships and has grown so much from his time away. We can't wait to return next year.
A phenomenal trip year after year
August 26, 2018by: Ethan Reed - United StatesAction Quest has repeatedly been one of the greatest experiences of my life. After 3 years with them I can safely say that you are guaranteed to have a phenomenal time. The kids, councilors, food, and diving have always been AQ’s strongsuits, and year after year they are always the best that they can be. I have done other programs like this, and none of them have even come close to what Action Quest has to offer. I look forward to doing different diveside programs each year, each providing new certifications, specialties, and activities than the year before. Within the coarse of two and a half weeks we average 20 dives, not to mention the PADI work, sails, and outside activities like hikes and community service. In total they manage to get huge amounts of accomplishments throughout the trip, still leaving plenty of tome for relaxing and getting to know the other kids. This is something that Action Quest does perfectly, and I have yet to see another program come even close. It is always a great experience, and all of the programs will allow you to come out with something new that you didn’t bring into it.
The best 21 days of my life
August 24, 2018by: Riley Coyne - United StatesThis year was my first summer at AQ, and coming here was the best decision my parents and I have ever made. I made friends that will last a lifetime, explored the underwater, and sailed all over the beautiful BVI’s!
Incredible!
August 24, 2018by: Sofia Coen - United StatesThe most amazing experience of my life! 11/10 recommended. I would not change a thing. The staff is professional and helpful, every trip is planned flawlessly! Action quest is amazing! If you’re looking for adventure, thrill, diving, sailing, or community service. This is the place. I have been 2 years in a row on different programs and both have exceeded my expectations.
Tremendous opportunity!!!
August 24, 2018by: Sharon DiMatteo - United StatesThis is my daughters second year and she has grown tremendously as a result of participating. She has also made wonderful friendships as well. On the flight home the connecting flight was cancelled at JFK and the airline had the kids booked on flights one and two days later. Leah at TRC coordinated everything so wonderfully to get the kids home by the next morning. She was truly concerned about having the kids stranded at the airport. Many thanks to her!!! What's best about ActionQuest? The variety of programs for the kids to attend and develop as cultured and caring human beings.
Best experience with ActionQuest
August 21, 2018by: Fiona Turner - United StatesEverything about Action Quest exceeded any idea I had of what it would be like to actually live on a boat for three weeks in the BVI. I seriously don't know how, but the staff always seemed to have everything and everyone organized and safe, as well as making everything so enjoyable at the same time. I can definitely say that I have made some lifetime friends, and the diving and sailing there is something everyone needs to experience.
Meaningful experience for the whole family
August 20, 2018by: Misty Delbridge - United StatesProfessional operation from beginning to end! The process is extremely organized, honestly a well oiled machine. However, they have a unique way of making this adventure feel very personal and inclusive from the beginning. I chatted multiple times with several different staff members before the trip and every person gave me a greater level of comfort. The daily trip log is so engaging and great for family and friends to see what the campers are up to! My favorite thing about this entire experience was sitting with my son reading all the handwritten notes from their crew and staff members. I could tell he was proud to read them and truly felt apart of something very meaningful. What an emotional and perfect way to end an experience he will never forget! See you next year!
My son said It was epic!!
August 20, 2018by: Nick Lisle - United StatesMy son said it was the best experience he has ever had. As a parent I was pleased all around with the level of communication, the help I received signing-up and getting ready all the way through to when my son returned home safely. Staff was great and very helpful.... whenever I called I got the support I needed and always got through to a live staff member (that's a big deal). We plan to return next year for another epic trip.
Life changing
April 29, 2018by: Lindsey - United StatesMy name is Lindsey Hogan and I was a student at Action Quest for two years (the summers of 2015 and 2016), and I am writing to tell you how incredibly formative and special Action Quest is, although I'm sure you already know. I've wanted to write to you all for a long time, but I struggled to find the words, and I still do as I write now. Before Action Quest I was introverted and had minimal self-confidence, and I shied away from too many things I could have enjoyed. Afterward, however, I have found the complete opposite to be true. I fell in love with the ocean and because of Action Quest as a whole, between traveling alone, to meeting a multitude of new people, to being in a bathing suit every day and so, so much more, I have become the person I have always wanted to be, and who I am now. It gave me the opportunity to gain perspective and a deeper appreciation of my life and how truly fortunate I am. I learned to put my phone down and experience the world and the people around me as much as I can because we can never know when we will no longer be able to. Action Quest will always be such a big part of me and I wish I could write something that will do justice to that feeling, but I honestly do not think its possible. I would say I still talk to my shipmates, but that would be untrue because I became closer with so many more people than just my Ka Ou Fe and Adonis families that I still keep in contact with. In the time since returning home, I have been visited, and have gone to visit campers from as far as Austria and they are some of the closest and most incredible friends I have. I still keep my cards with me, my flags next to my bed, all of my now printed photos from camp on the wall, and my boat playlists saved in my phone. Not being able to return for the summer of 2018 because of having to attend school affiliated programs broke my heart, and really hit home how much Action Quest means to me. I recommend it to practically everyone I meet and have convinced a number of people to attend over the past two years, simply because I think Action Quest is one of those rare things in life, where everyone is there because they truly want to be, and it's incredible. Thank you all for your hard work and everything that you do to make it possible, you really do change lives.
Incredible!
November 16, 2017by: Sarah O'Leary - United StatesActionQuest is an extremely professional organization providing the best of supervision, safety and unique opportunities for young adults. My 13-year-old daughter spent three weeks with AQ (summer of 2017) living onboard a 55' sailboat in the British Virgin Islands earning her Advanced Scuba certification with 3 additional specialties, studying marine biology and obviously sailing. She came home with a new appreciation for sailing and wanting to further pursue her new passion, diving. From the moment we first inquired, through the actual program to the post-trip debrief, the staff has been extremely professional, responsive and genuinely interested in feedback. I have never come across an organization so committed to doing whatever they can to ensure the best possible outcome. We have already registered our daughter for a return session next summer. Can't imagine a better way to develop not only the sailing and diving skills but also a sense of self-reliance, the opportunity to develop leadership skill and awe of nature in it's rawest form. Thank you ActionQuest!
AQ
October 24, 2017by: mg - United StatesI have completed two trips with ActionQuest, in the summers of 2016 and 2017. I participated in the Neptune and Rescue programs, both are part of the "dive side" of ActionQuest. Not only did I improve my diving certifications, I learned how to sail, and about the marine world. The program is run aboard a boat, meaning there is no daily routine, you sail to a new spot everyday. Each trip you sail about 250 nautical miles, and get to visit some of the most famous sites in the islands, such as the Baths and Sidney's Peace and Love.
Incredible summer sailing adventure exceeded all expectations
October 18, 2017by: Laurie Daniels - United StatesMy son's experience was above and beyond our wildest expectations. He came back a confident and happy guy, very proud of having successfully faced the challenges of the trip. The counselors were top-notch - caring, capable, and fun. It was truly a life-changing experience for him. I was very impressed with the program after initially talking to Jake on the phone. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and making me feel that the program was a good fit for my son. The staff was always helpful when I called with questions before the trip. Leah the travel agent was also very easy to work with for travel plans, and made the whole process a breeze. My son's travel days went seamlessly. It was great that there were a few kids flying together from Boston, as he did not know anyone. These kids were very friendly right away, which was great. While my son was away for the 3 weeks, we were treated to a creatively crafted blog posts every day - such a wonderful way to keep in touch and much appreciated. It was clear that the kids were really having a ball as we read the posts every morning. I have never seen my kid as happy as he was when he returned. Just had a whole new air of confidence about him, and now has a whole set of goals he wants to work on - getting his sailing credentials over time, learning to scuba dive, and planning on taking a gap year to sail! The instructors really seemed to make the trip for my son. Shannon, George, and Elise were so supportive and fun, and taught him so much. They really gave of themselves, it seemed. Also, my son really appreciated the fact that there was enough "down time" along with all of the super active time. That is really important to him. And that the kids were given a fair amount of independence when exploring on land. He felt that he was treated with respect and trust, which is so key at age 16! He loved having time to wander around the various towns. He also loved visiting some of the historic sites, and the boat yard (I forget which island that was). It was great that there were some alternatives to the harder hikes for kids with major problems with the heat, like my son. He loves to eat, and had nothing negative to say about food - loved it all! Especially the opportunity to eat in the towns. Overall an incredibly supportive, caring, exciting and nurturing environment was created on this trip, that gave my son a gift he will never forget!!
An amazing experience
October 01, 2017by: Max Adelman - United StatesAction Quest is truly a special program. The professional and kind staff are complimented wonderfully by the world class diving. I’ve been at Action Quest for 4 summers and went in for the first time as a completely beginner diver. I am happy to say that I am now a certified dive instructor thanks to Action Quest. It is a life changing place and everyone should go if given the opportunity.
High school summer program
September 28, 2017by: CGSTEVENSActionQuest is unique. Value added. My daughter LOVES it. She learns. She experiences things I couldn't ever duplicate. I like the values/priorities of the program - very down to earth. It's well run and I feel comfortable sending her (was very nervous the first year but not after that). The best thing about ActionQuest is what it means to my daughter - to see her sooo passionate about something! The diving, the kids, the Caribbean, the sailing, the achievements and the benchmarks she strives for. She looks forward to it all year - stays so connected to the other kids. I like the way the program builds on the previous year and she comes home with certifications."
Third summer and still amazing
September 28, 2017by: Margaux d'Arbeloff - United StatesActionQuest is an amazing program that has really changed me as a person as I am now able to be more of myself instead of my shy self. Also the staff are all amazing and ensure that everything is running smoothly while having a ton of fun. I was on "S/Y Pure Joy" first session and had Amelia (Meelz), Sarah, and Mike as my staff. Meelz has been an amazing role model for me ever since I first had her my first year at AQ 2 summers ago. She is an awesome instructor and friend, ensuring that everyone is having a good time. Sarah one of the nicest people I have ever met and always has a smile on her face - at the same time knows when she needs to be more strict with kids. I had Sarah last summer too and she has always been a great person to talk to. Mike is great staff member he is one of the easiest people to talk to and always has great stories to tell. He also is very good at handling kids and ensuring they stay in line. All of the staff on my boat really helped to make my session the best that is possibly could, always so excited about all the events coming that day!
Best summer program ever!
September 28, 2017by: JR Goldstein - United StatesWe were so tremendously impressed by the AQ program and team! This past summer was our first experience and it is evident that JR has certainly made some life-long friends, with whom he still chats. I especially loved the fact that these kids were from all over the world. Not only did he love his crew mates, but he also raved about the AQ crew members. Everyone with whom we met and spoke was nothing short of professional and helpful. At the end, when I met JR at the airport he was excited to see me, but he really missed all of the new friends he made during his AQ journey! Best thing a mom could hear. He also said he did not miss having his phone. We are already booked and counting the days until June 2018!
Incredible
September 27, 2017by: Caroline - United Statesbest time of my life. I would go back in a heart beat. Best summer I could've asked for. Everyone I met was amazing and I've made friends that I know I will have for the rest of my life. Beyond exceeded by expectations.
An amazing program and experience
September 27, 2017by: syd1005 - United StatesActionQuest is an extremely unique place that offers amazing experiences for kids of all ages and from all over the world. It has taught me so much, not only about sailing and scuba diving, but also about myself, and going to ActionQuest has made me a much happier person. I truly enjoy lifeworks forums. I think that they bring up important topics, and often bring boats closer. They also help connect the lessons that I have learned at ActionQuest to my life outside, so that I may bring these new lessons home with me. The instructors were always happy to answer any sailing question and hand over the helm to any student who wanted to learn more about sailing. They made it very fun and interesting to sail the boat. Scuba diving instructions were also excellent, the instructors would help us plan our dives in the beginning, but then allow us to figure out how to do it on our own later in the trip. Diving is my favorite part of AQ, and it never fails to amaze me. The instructors are amazing, they clearly love what they do, which impacts each shipmate and allows them to have a great time. The friends that I made at ActionQuest are some of my closest friends now, and would have never met them without going to AQ. The people that you meet are just so interesting and amazing. The diving is beautiful, and the sailing is so much fun
AQ Neptune voyage
September 26, 2017by: AQ Dad - United StatesI have been a participant, staff member, and parent of several youth adventure/educational programs. AQ is at the head of the pack in all the above categories. Kudos for not "leaving well enough alone" but instead adopting new ways to further improve an already-great program. Some might say I'm biased in favor of AQ since I'm a former staff member as well as a current/recent customer. I say that gives me a unique perspective with more insight into the program than most. AQ continues to lead the way in innovation, transparency, educational focus, and just plain fun--all in a safe environment for teens. I had no hesitation sending my son to AQ, and I will continue to recommend the program to others. It's not inexpensive, but it's worth every penny. This was a significant investment for me and my family, but I have had no regrets...and yes, we consider it an investment in our son's future, not just an expense.

My background in marine science and communications made AQ a great fit. I came to the program as a Marine Science Educator in 2015 when I co-led a program in Ecuador. Since that first summer, I’ve been determined to continue working to inspire the next generation to care about the environment and to find themselves in the service of other communities around the world.
