What inspired you to pursue an online program?
I was looking for opportunities to upskill myself as a teacher and be on par with the new methodologies in teaching to be a confident 21st century teacher.
Why did you choose Suraasa?
Suraasa gave me a deep understanding of teaching knowledge and how to use it in various contexts and excel at what I am today. It has widened my knowledge of understanding the teacher’s perspective as well as student perspective, thus making it worth choosing Suraasa.
What was your favorite part about the program?
My journey with Suraasa has been filled with incredible support and positivity right from the very beginning until now. Every aspect of my experience with Suraasa has been nothing short of exciting, from engaging with the online modules, attempting the online assessments, and participating in the enriching sessions with mentors. The breakout room discussions with my fellow batch mates have been a source of inspiration and learning. Despite burning the midnight oil to complete assignments, the sense of accomplishment has been truly gratifying.
One of the highlights of my journey with Suraasa was winning the prestigious Suraasa Teacher Impact Award, which filled me with immense pride and motivation to continue my teaching journey. Another unforgettable moment was conducting a masterclass for educators from around the world, which allowed me to share my knowledge and learn from fellow educators.
Sharing my course completion certificates on social media was a moment of joy and celebration, as I could proudly showcase my professional growth. My Suraasa experience has been filled with so much more, and I am truly grateful for the opportunities, support, and positivity that Suraasa has brought into my life. It has been a transformational experience that has enriched me both personally and professionally.
What makes your program unique?
The support provided by the Suraasa Team is just incredible, be it during the course or as an alumna. The free masterclass sessions conducted are like a treat for any educator.
How did program staff support you throughout the program?
The leaders, mentors, tech support, Q&A support, placement support, and more have given me a very good experience. I can still call or drop an email for any assistance, even as an alumna. That speaks volumes about the support rendered by the team.
What is one thing you wish you had done differently?
I wish it would have been a face to face session. That way we could all interact, share ideas, and experience more in real time with the mentors and other educators. This would have added more value to it.
Describe a typical day in the life of your program.
Doing typical work and completing assignments was a great challenge. However, I made up my mind and was focused on my goal to complete the course in the given time and pursue the certificate at the right time.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
The journey from the start of the program until now has always been a supportive and positive environment. Everything from Suraasa has been exciting in one way or the other, like the online modules, attempting the online assessments, the online sessions with mentors, the breakout room discussions with batch mates, staying up late to do up the assignments, winning the Suraasa Teacher Impact Award, conducting the masterclass for educators around the world, sharing the course completion certificates on social media, and so much more.
What is one thing every participant should know before participating in your program?
The journey is going to be hard. As we say, "no pain, no gain". So, prepare yourself mentally to give time and organize yourself well to put in all the efforts and dedication for a fantastic result.
Now that you've finished up your online program, how has it impacted your life (i.e. career, education, etc.)?
My confidence in my communication, newfound knowledge and skills for collaboration made me excel as a teacher. Now, I am promoted as a coordinator to empower other teachers to be that "21st century teacher".
Would you recommend Suraasa to others? Why?
Every educator should have the right knowledge of pedagogy, technology and content and the knowledge to use it wisely for their own professional growth as well as the growth of the students. Hence, I say "Suraasa is the right place for the educators to be recognized".
