What inspired you to pursue an online program?

I had been teaching for about eight years already at a higher education institute but needed proper teaching qualifications to be accepted at other educational institutions.

Why did you choose PgCTL?

The live sessions and interactive lesson activities were enlightening. The modules were packed with informative and relevant content that added to my teaching practice. Every lecturer I had the pleasure of interacting with gave me the inspiration to strive to become a better teacher.

What was your favorite part about the program?

My favorite part of PgCTL was attending the live sessions, interacting with the lecturers, and engaging with others in the program who were also on this journey.

What makes your program unique?

It's a complete package covering all the important aspects of teaching today. Each topic was covered with enough depth and gave me the appropriate knowledge and tools to continue teaching successfully.

How did program staff support you throughout the program?

The Suraasa team was very supportive. The lecturers showed genuine interest in helping all of us by answering all our questions inside and outside of the sessions. The care team was very responsive and provided me with help, whether it was technical, administrative, or related to the course content.

What is one thing you wish you had done differently?

I wish I was more prompt with my assignment submissions. Although they were quite taxing, they did help consolidate everything I was learning in the course.

Describe a typical day in the life of your program.

A typical day as a PgCTL learner involves going through a few videos and articles on the Suraasa platform in preparation for an upcoming session, followed by attempting one of the skill-based pieces of evidence while using class notes and exercises as references.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

The most cherished aspect of my PgCTL experience was undoubtedly the live sessions, where I had the opportunity to interact with the esteemed lecturers and connect with fellow participants who were also on this journey for diverse reasons. These sessions were a source of profound learning, inspiration, and camaraderie, as we shared our perspectives, insights, and challenges with each other.

Engaging with the lecturers during these live sessions was a truly enriching experience. Their expertise, passion, and dedication towards teaching and learning were palpable, and I was captivated by their wisdom and insights. The opportunity to ask questions, seek clarifications, and engage in discussions with them further deepened my understanding of the course content and enriched my learning journey.

Equally meaningful were the connections I formed with my fellow participants. Interacting with individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, and professional domains opened my mind to diverse perspectives and expanded my horizons. We shared our motivations, stories, and aspirations, and supported each other through the challenges and triumphs of the course. These interactions fostered a sense of community, belonging, and mutual respect that made the PgCTL experience truly special.

Attending the live sessions and engaging with the lecturers and fellow participants was undoubtedly the highlight of my PgCTL journey. It reaffirmed my belief in the power of human connections and the importance of collaborative learning in personal and professional growth. I will always treasure these moments and the invaluable relationships I formed during my PgCTL experience.

What is one thing every participant should know before participating in your program?

Even though the PgCTL course can be done as a part-time learner, it requires full dedication and consistency. It requires you to be an active participant.

Now that you've finished up your online program, how has it impacted your life (i.e. career, education, etc.)?

The course inspired me to apply for an internship, which became a full-time job. Although I'm not a traditional teacher in a typical school, the skills and techniques I've learned through the course have been invaluable. I have gotten two pay raises and have been promoted to Curriculum Coordinator.

Would you recommend PgCTL to others? Why?

I would recommend Suraasa's PgCTL course to others as it provides a comprehensive learning package and covers all topics relevant to a 21st-century teacher. The sessions are packed with practical exercises and leave us with a variety of tools that we can easily use in our classrooms.

Although I had 12 years of teaching experience, the only thing that was missing was a certificate from a recognized, accredited body which was provided only by Suraasa. After researching for months and finding out the authenticity, I planned to join Suraasa because it is KHDA recognized.
