What inspired you to work for GlobalEd Abroad?

Mainly their staff, especially their motivation, experience, commitment, and integrity. I was also very impressed by the network for internships that they already had in place and for the opportunity for me to continue to grow it.

Describe a typical day at work.

I typically spend some computer time answering emails from students or companies, as well as organizing future activities. I also dedicate some time to assisting the site director with any administrative task.

The rest of the day I spend it on meetings with students and/or companies, checking in with both the company supervisors and the students that are partaking in the internship programs. I would also be part of the cultural activities with the students the days that we have them.

Why do you do what you do?

Because it is one of my passions to be a mediator between individuals from different cultures and backgrounds and I enjoy helping young generations taking their first steps into the professional world.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Checking in with students on their jobs and helping them with any challenges that might arise. Seeking for new contacts with new companies in order to grow our network and our offer.

How do you use your education and international background in your current role?

I can relate to the students very easily since I have studied and worked abroad in four different countries from a very young age. I am also a native from Seville and that helps me when working with local companies. I'm able to use my language skills as well.

What are some current projects you are working on?

Growing our company's network, interviewing and training future staff, developing new online programs, expanding our universities network and searching for new onsite destinations.

What makes GlobalEd Abroad special?

The incredible attitude, work ethic, and experience from the staff. The variety of internships and cultural activities that are offered. The ability to solve situations and always look for the positive in everything.

Why should someone choose your organization over competitors?

Because we go beyond and above to relate to our students. We get very involved in each activity that we offer, we are there for our students as well as for all of our collaborators. We immerse ourselves in the experience as much as we can.

What hopes do you have for the future for GlobalEd Abroad?

International growth, new international locations, an increase in the number of students without decreasing the quality and familiarity of our service.

Are there any developments with GlobalEd Abroad that you would like to share with us?

The creation of a very successful online program, "Online Internships and Professional Development Program", where students can do their internships with international companies via online. We developed this program right after the beginning of the pandemic, it didn't take us long to respond to the needs that were there to be met.

What is your organization's mission and how do you continue to work toward it?

To provide opportunities for academic, personal, and professional development through quality international education programs. We continually focus on enhancing our programs in order to offer the best learning and empowering experience for our students. An experience where they can get a greater sense of self-awareness, understanding, and tolerance of diverse cultural values as well as acquisition of marketable skill sets.

What do you hope participants take away from your programs?

We hope that our students learn about the skills that employers are seeking, how to manage expectations, and how to view the world through a multicultural lens.

How do you help support participants?

We develop strong relationships with every single student, keeping an open communication at all times. We spend a good amount of time on making sure that the program is understood and that the expectations are set in place.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?

Because that kind of experience can't be learnt in a classroom and it gives individuals a stronger and more competitive personal and professional profile.

Why do you think learning a new language is important?

Because it opens up your mind and your capacity to connect with individuals from all over the world. It helps your brain stay young and healthy and it allows you to broaden your possibilities in life.

What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?

Don't be afraid of the unknown and of not knowing the language. Going abroad allows you to grow as an individual and will open up so many doors in your life.

What does meaningful travel mean to you?

Meaningful travel means to immerse yourself in the new culture, opening your mind to different ways, going out of your way to connect to local individuals as well as places.

How is your company handling Covid protocols? What should participants know about your Covid readiness? How are you assisting participants with navigating the new travel landscape?

Since the Covid pandemic started in March 2020, prioritizing the health and safety of all program participants including faculty and onsite staff has led to changes in our cancellation policies, refund policies, and the factors that influence our program cancellations.

All of the Covid information as well as any updates have been designed to be a resource for our students to help determine if they would choose to participate in a GlobalEd program, as well as the reasons why a program may be canceled. Everything can be found on our website.
