What inspired you to work for Global Work & Travel?

I've always been passionate about travel. I lived in Portugal until I was 18 and moved to the U.K. on my own. I have always wanted to help people experience what I did but with a bit more support, as things did not always go to plan, so now i'm very passionate about helping people see the world in a meaningful way and travel to over 60 destinations over the world.

Enjoyed a stroll along Amsterdam's famous canals. It was definitely worth seeing.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the role is receiving photos & reviews from travellers who have in some cases been planning these trip for two to three years (because of covid) and now they are overseas having the time of their lives and are very grateful for our support. It makes the role worthwhile and reminds me of why we do what we do, to make travel easy!

What advice would you tell your pre-travel self?

If I could turn back time, I would travel more and from a younger age. I would say the older you get, the more commitments you have, so go see the world whilst you are young. Also, don't be afraid to make mistakes and you don't need to worry too much about your future when you are 21, so go live, travel and have fun!

The amount of people we speak to who are 30 or 40 all say they wish they had done this when they were younger. And if you don't do it, you will too!!

What makes Global Work & Travel special?

We have helped over 72,000 travellers since 2008. We are a one-stop shop that helps travelers from start to finish, so as soon as you book you become a global traveller, with a 24/7 support system. We have a team of over 100 staff between four offices worldwide and we are one of the highest rated travel companies in the world.

Why should someone choose Global Work & Travel over competitors?

Because we have been doing this for 14+ years and offer tailor made packages to help travelers from start to finish, with flexible life time deposits, and flexible payment plans. We are passionate about sustainable & ethical travel, provide worldwide support when it comes to visas, help with accommodation, job matches, hold 24/7 emergency lines. Also, over 1,200 of our business partners and provide support with all the little extras like flights, insurance, tours, and lifetime discounts.

What is Global Work & Travel’s mission and how do you continue to work toward it?

We make meaningful travel safe, easy, and connected through innovation and technology. Our purpose is to be the gateway for our customers to explore the real world whilst saving them stress, time, and money. Additionally, we value team member development, champion animal welfare, build ethical partnerships, and support our local communities.

What do you hope participants take away from your programs?

We want our travellers to have a once in a lifetime experience, where they have fun, meet people, and make life changing memories. Our goal is to make the transition to another country, stress free and easy because we want our travelers to come back to us a second and third time, which a lot of them do to see the world in more of a meaningful way.

Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?

It is very important, you should always embrace different cultures and lifestyles. Through travel you can experience and be part of a community that isn't yours. Traveling also builds your confidence, your CV, and you get to meet some amazing people and make life long friends too!

What does meaningful travel mean to you?

Great question, to me it means travelling to places you've never visited before, making an impact and travelling off the beaten track. It's making new friends and opening up to a new way of living and being, creating new connections with people you wouldn't if you did not leave your 9-5, learning from yourself and growing as a person/pushing yourself further than before.
