What inspired you to work for Proceedit?
I’m actually a low-tech person: I was not familiar with process-working platforms, and working remotely was a big ambiguity. I knew Proceedit via the Erasmus network, and was attracted to their Atlassian platform, with Confluence, Bitbucket, and Jira.
It allowed me to execute, deliver, and communicate 100% online in a professional manner. Since Proceedit is in its rebranding process, I could also work as a venture capitalist in search for potential investors, which is what I find most attractive.
Describe a typical day at work.
We don’t have a “typical day at work” in Proceedit - everyday is different with new assignments, new thinking ways, meetings within the company or with potential investors, building documents, and so on.

Why do you do what you do?
I have always wanted to understand how the world functions. In my opinion, Economics explains in the most realistic, efficient, and honest way the foundation of our civilization. It explains how we responded to each other throughout history, and how we developed as we are today. In different aspects of Econ, Finance existed from the beginning and played a crucial role in shaping the trading relationships - that’s what I’m digging into.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Searching for potential investors who are far more experienced, professional, and influential than I am. I also enjoy having the opportunity to communicate, learn from them, and try to work things out between both parties.
How do you use your education and international background in your current role?
As Finance Unit Manager, I’m able to combine all skills learned not only at Uni, but also from my life experiences: Negotiating, documenting, presenting, using financial accounting skills, and so on.
What challenges do you often face and how do you overcome them?
- Miscommunication: English is not our mother tongue, and we work remotely, which doubles the difficulty. We chat and set up meetings to clear things out; try to write in the simplest language; and have an empathetic, open-minded attitude when communicating with other team members.
- Lack of experience: Even being well-equipped with academic study at University, working with real business affairs is not as easy as it appears in lectures. I still have much to learn and improve my skills everyday.

What are some current projects you are working on?
- Preparing investment-related documents: We have to prepare an official set of documents so that we can present to potential investors, such as Pitch Deck, Financial statements, Operation Plan.
- Horizon 2020 Grants: H2020 is a good opportunity to work on continental projects, acquire good partners, and receive acknowledgement from the EU.
- Crowdfunding projects: We are in the capitalization stage, thus all sources are needed to be used.
What makes Proceedit special?
Proceedit is a real business run by students. Usually, it would be problematic for students finding real roles in firms when doing summer internships.
What hopes do you have for the future for your organization?
Proceedit may prosper, given the unique technology it’s developing, the dedication from the founding team, and the growing need for Business Process Automation in the nowadays business world.
What do you hope participants take away from your programs?
IT Skills for sure—it’s crucial nowadays that a young professional, regardless of your chosen industry, must acknowledge the necessary virtual platforms used in major corporations, so you can adapt to new changes, work efficiently with the team, and so on.
If you could participate in one of Proceedit’s programs, where would you go and what would you do?
I would participate in the Technology Branch, as I would love to learn more about the Amazon Web Services, which I’m currently interested in.
Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?
There are many good reasons for this process:
To raise awareness upon the differences and also similarities between us.
To learn how other parts of the world run their businesses, is also good for us to learn.
To step out of our comfort zone and achieve confidence and independence.
Why do you think learning a new language is important?
Language is a cultural concept, is the way other people think, perceive the world and respond to it. Learning the language helps us to understand why people behave in a certain way, and what we can expect and react to them.

What advice do you have for individuals thinking about going abroad?
Research hard beforehand, prepare well, keep your expectations realistic, and just do it.
What does meaningful travel mean to you?
I love talking with strangers. It’s a great way for us to express ourselves without much to hide, as we barely know each other. Traveling is a great way to meet amazing people, try new things, experience cultures, and overcome shocks and difficulties. Long story short, you’ll become stronger and wiser after every trip.
What hopes do you have for the future of international education?
More integrated, more equal between races, more bonding and less bordering.
