What inspired you to work with Volunteering India?
The noble idea of amalgamating travel with volunteering for the benefit of underprivileged people in India has been an inspiration for me. Being associated with Volunteering India gives me a feeling that in some way, even I am a part of something good, adding happiness to someone's life.
Describe a typical day at work for you as the Digital Marketing Manager.
I start my days by checking emails which includes Google Alerts and updates to know where and how we are being talked about around the internet. Checking on the latest trends in travel/volunteering and competitor analysis/study also happens twice a week. I also keep a tab on the Social Media Marketing.

What qualities make Volunteering India easy to market to potential volunteers?
Volunteering India is the oldest volunteer placement organization, which has hosted the highest number of volunteers in India. We have been offering a wide range of programs at an affordable cost, keeping in mind that most of our clientele are between the ages of 16 and 30 years (being mostly students or at an early stage of their career).
We aim to make the volunteering experience safe and secure by having an entire team available 24/7, looking after the international travelers who join us. Volunteers get first-hand work experience, and can satisfactorily contribute in the lives of the underprivileged ones.
How do you use your background in English Literature and Google certifications in your position?
Studying English has been central to the communication required in various marketing channels. It has equipped me to analyze and check the developed content for quality and relevancy. The Google Certifications have helped me analyze the source of traffic and conversion rate which ultimately helps the organization in achieving its marketing goals.

The freedom to implement new strategies and the opportunities to experiment with latest techniques.
How do you use your passion for yoga in your position?
Yoga gives me a peaceful mind and a sound body to dedicate myself to work with maximum focus.
What challenges do you face as the Digital Marketing Manager and how do you overcome them?
Our maximum traffic comes from Google Organic Search which keeps changing its algos and calls for a frequent update in our strategy as well. To overcome those challenges I have to keep watch on Google Updates & Marketing Trends on a regular basis, and implement new strategies accordingly to achieve targeted results.
Why is India a place you hope to share with others?
India, undoubtedly, is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and I'm not being biased while saying this. As an ancient civilization, our rich culture, heritage, wealth, and wisdom have always attracted people from all corners of the world - be it the conquerors or the colonial masters, the merchants or the travelers.
Our land is a land full of colors, beliefs, myths, mysteries, truths, and tales. Those who have been here, know the magic that India holds, and for those you still haven't explored it -yet- I believe they are really missing out on something.

What advice would you like to share with potential volunteers about international travel and/or traveling to India?
As of late, India has been coming into the limelight for a lot of adverse news, but I often feel that the media is twisting the reality. Looking at the data and statistics, there has been a considerable rise in the influx of foreign travelers in India, and I'm sure that in the days ahead, more and more millennials will be keen on exploring India and contributing towards the underprivileged societies through spreading happiness.
What hopes do you have for the future of Volunteering India?
I hope for Volunteering India to be known as an international brand, having more volunteers in the months and years ahead. We are constantly trying our best to make the website more user-friendly, and improving our content so that people can get more information.
We are also customizing our volunteering and internship programs in order to provide further enriching experiences to our participants, and we have added several tours so that they get to travel across and know more about our beautiful country.
