What inspired you to work for Arcos Learning Abroad?
Living abroad for more than 15 years inspired me. When I was at the University of Granada, I spent my whole time with students from all over the world and thanks to that I decided to spend my first years as a young worker in England, the USA, and Italy.
Arcos offers me what I experienced when I was at the university, I mean, the possibility of helping abroad students while they are in Granada.
What is your favorite part of your job?
What I like the most is when I spend time with the students and when we are creating new programs that can help us reach more students to go abroad to some of our destinations.
How do you use your education and international background in your current role?
The experience I already have helps me always stay calm when difficult situations at work come. Thinking with the brain and not with the hearts helps a lot.

What challenges do you often face and how do you overcome them?
I would say that one of the hardest things we are facing everyday is communicating with local enterprises because, depending on the country, people work differently.
What are some current projects you are working on?
At the moment, I'm working on creating new programs in Granada related to sports and internships. A lot of students come to Granada to spend some months there and they don't really have the opportunity to practice sports or work with native people.
What makes Arcos Learning Abroad special?
I love using tools such as Trello, Teams, Google Calendar, Drive, Dropbox. The more organized you are, the less time you will waste during your day at work.
Why should someone choose Arcos Learning Abroad over competitors?
I wouldn't say only that we are trying to offer new things, products that are not everywhere in the market. I think that Arcos is an awesome team (CEO, Directors...)

What is your organization's mission and how do you continue to work toward it?
The main mission is to help students to get out of their comfort zone and show them that going abroad can help them to become better and to learn a new language. I'm in charge of social media and I try to do things differently.
If you could participate on one of your organization's programs, where would you go and what would you do?
I would go to Madagascar, I didn't have the chance to spend time over there while I was living on Reunion Island. I would have loved to go help some people.
Why is it important for people to travel abroad and experience new cultures?
When you are in your comfort zone you can only see what's close to you and you can not really give an opinion about how other things are. We are world citizens!

Why do you think learning a new language is important?
Breaking the barrier of the language has made me the person who I am. I got a job in France, I met people in Italy, I studied at WSU, I traveled around England, I worked as a teacher in Reunion Island. What else can I say to show how important it is?
What does meaningful travel mean to you?
When there is something that pushes you to go abroad that comes directly from your heart. Depending on the person it can be related to different things.
How is your company handling Covid protocols? What should participants know about your Covid readiness? How are you assisting participants with navigating the new travel landscape?
In Spain, the covid situation is taken seriously by Spaniards, so I would tell the participants to take their time to read all the info about the covid situation that we send. Depending on this, more or less students will be able to come abroad. I talk about Spain because I know the situation here, but I would also tell them to do the same thing in case they would go to Costa Rica, Mexico, and other countries.
