Cecilia earned a degree in Global Studies from UNC in 2016. During her studies, she conducted an independent research project titled, "Pupusa Practices of the Salvadoran Diaspora in the U.S.," which allowed her to learn more about pupusa makers and their stories. Inspired by her research, Cecilia launched a food truck and catering company called So Good Pupusas. In partnership with her non-profit partner, Pupusas for Education, she aims to make higher education more accessible for undocumented students via last dollar scholarships, one pupusa at a time.
