    Description: Scholars are invited by the Kennedy Library to apply for the Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. Research Fellowships. These fellowships are administered by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation from income provided by the Schlesinger Fund. Successful candidates will develop at least a portion of their work from original research in archival materials from the collections of the Kennedy Library and related materials. Proposals are invited from all sources, but preference will be given to those from applicants specializing in the areas indicated above. Preference is also given to projects not supported by large grants from other institutions.

    No. of Fellowship Recipients: 1 to 2 individuals

    Criteria: To apply, submit an application form accompanied by a brief proposal (three to four pages) in the form of a letter describing the planned research, its significance, the intended audience, and expected outcome; two letters of recommendation from academic or other appropriate references; a sample of your writing (ca. ten pages); a project budget; and a vita. List the collections in the Kennedy Library and other institutions which you plan to use. Describe how the funds will be applied, other fellowships or grants which will support the project and whether matching funds are available to you from your institution or elsewhere. In your proposal, describe your qualifications and similar research projects you have undertaken.
