Summer 2012 Volunteer Program - Kathmandu Nepal

Summer Volunteer Travel during Summer 2012 and immerse in the cultural journey in the heart of Nepal in the capital of Kathmandu. The journey will start in Kathmandu with an extended cultural orientation followed by volunteering work with orphan children for 2 weeks. You get to work with local people, helping them hand to hand for the upliftment of children of the downtrodden society. You would work 5 days a week volunteering at an orphanage to help the children in need.You would travel over the weekend to explore the beautiiful sights around Kathmandu .The Tour includes visit to Nagarkot, Bhaktapur and Patan around Kathmandu along with sightseeing of Kathmandu city.

Detailed Program itinerary is given below:
Start Date: 04th June 2012, 02nd July 2012 and 6th August 2012 3 weeks

DAY 1: (Arrival in Kathmandu & welcome)
Arrival at Kathmandu airport.
Pickup and transfer to volunteer housing.
Rest and Welcome Dinner in the Evening.

Day 2 - Day 5: Language & Culture Orientation in Kathmandu which will include language classes and introduction to local culture and customs.

Day 6 - 21: Volunteer at an orphanage for 2 weeks. You can render invaluable help by doing volunteer work at an orphanage in Nepal, giving them love and affection, teaching them basic conversational English, helping them in their school subjects, guiding them about personal hygiene and sanitation, taking them out on small excursions and engaging them in extra curricular activities.
It would be an unforgettable and soul enriching experience for you which may compel you to return again and again to these orphans.

Sightseeing Tour included over the Weekends
* Sightseeing of sister' cities of Kathmandu valley once separate Kingdoms, with different languages and cultures - Patan & Bhaktapur
* Visit Nagarkot or Dhulikhel for fantastic mountain views from sunrise to sunset.
* Return to Kathmandu
* A one hour mountain flight for a panoramic view of the Himalayas (At an Extra Cost at USD200)

Accommodation & Food
Volunteers will be staying in the volunteer house or host families during the program. The accommodation is shared with other volunteers. During the weekend trips accommodation will be provided in hotels with all meals included. During the Volunteer Program, volunteers are provided with 3 meals a day.
