We have ample opportunities in our partner hospitals and clinics for practical work in general dentistry doing procedures such as scaling, extractions, fillings and root canals. A dental placement is a great way to gain experience in the dentistry abroad. Whether you are an aspiring dentist, still in school or a professional looking to spend some meaningful time volunteering abroad, working with our partner hospitals and clinics, we will find a role for you that is commensurate with your level of experience and interests.
Dental healthcare access, such like visiting the dentist for cleaning every six months, is rare in most of the developing hospitals and clinics we partner with, particularly due to lack of resources, which means that you will experience more complicated and advanced cases that you would in an elective placement in the developed world. In rural dental centers, patients will show up not for preventive care but for advanced intervention.
We also arrange dental outreach programs to rural communities particularly for visiting groups.
