An amazing experience

January 30, 2024by: Catherine Lietz - United StatesProgram: Study Abroad in Dublin, Ireland

My time in Dublin with ISA was probably the best three months of my life. I studied music, history, and the Irish language at Maynooth University just outside Dublin. The university was amazing with wonderful professors, lots of fun social events, and great programs and resources. I also loved the town of Maynooth: it has a great social scene, it's very clean, and I felt very safe there. The proximity to Dublin is also great because of the city itself, but also because of the access to public transportation.

ISA Abroad at UCD

I had the most wonderful experience studying abroad at University College Dublin with ISA! Aside from loving every second studying at the university, I was able to have many experiences outside of Dublin. UCD quickly became home, and I will always cherish the friends and memories made during my time abroad. Excursions planned by ISA allowed me to see other parts of the country and connect with other studying with ISA. I especially loved the flexibility and support of the program as I was able to safely take trips outside of Ireland during the semester. This experience was something I will always miss, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity!

Study Abroad in Dublin Fall 2014

This past fall, I was lucky enough to study abroad in Maynooth, Ireland. I had already been to Ireland the previous summer with ISA and knew I loved the country and the program. I fell in love with Ireland all over again this fall. I was taken on trips around Dublin and all over Ireland with ISA and got to see so much of the country. ISA was definitely a big support while I was in Ireland, always available to answer my questions.

Thousands of years of Irish culture meet modern charm in Ireland's capital city. Dublin has become a center of high-tech industry and learning, yet still proudly holds onto its historical roots. With just over one million inhabitants, this small capital provides the amenities of a much larger city – from fantastic shopping avenues and renowned restaurants to diverse cultural edifices. The main campus is at Belfield, an easy 2.5-mile bus ride south of Dublin's city center. It is a beautifully landscaped 300-acre campus with strikingly modern arts, commerce, law, agriculture, and administration buildings, as well as a library, restaurant, sports center, and student residences.
