Urban farming transforms city spaces into vibrant gardens, directly combating food insecurity by providing fresh, local produce. Efforts extend to the entire food system, addressing "food deserts" and supporting local markets, making urban food systems more resilient and sustainable.

As a volunteer or intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, including composting, organic farming, water management, and more. You'll also collaborate with residents, farmers, and officials, and you can participate in workshops on farming, food security, and environmental conservation.

You'll have the chance to work with one of several urban farming organizations in Cape Town while experiencing life in South Africa.
