Program Overview

Do an internship or volunteer in childcare and kindergarten teaching in Tokyo, Japan! You will work with children in international kindergartens and preschools or in after-school care centers. You'll assist staff with daily activities, engage with the children in English through play and conversation, and provide basic childcare. Depending on your visa, you might even be compensated for your efforts:

1) Unpaid Internship/Volunteering
You can undertake an unpaid placement for up to 3 or 6 months (depending on your nationality) visa-exempt. This option is available to all nationalities that qualify for a Temporary Visitor Visa exemption.

2) Compensated Internship/Volunteering
If you work for 6 months or longer, you can get compensated for your work using a Working Holiday Visa. This option is open to nationals of the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Korea, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Iceland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Sweden, Estonia, Netherlands, Uruguay, Finland, Latvia, and Luxembourg.

Program Highlights

Choose from both unpaid internship/volunteering options (visa-exempt for many nationalities) and compensated positions for those eligible for a Working Holiday Visa.
Receive extensive assistance, including visa guidance, airport transfers, on-site orientation, and help with essential formalities.
Work directly with children in either international kindergartens/preschools or after-school care centers (Gakudos) while experiencing life in Japan.
Have full flexibility—not a one-size-fits-all-package, but can be tailored to your needs in regards of length of stay, housing and more.
