Wanderlust Exchange

Wanderlust Exchange helped me realize my dream of coming to China after so many years of studying the Chinese language, culture, and history, and for that I am forever grateful. Thanks to the daily Chinese classes and frequent interactions with my host families, I was able to significantly improve my skills, especially in listening comprehension and speaking. I also had the chance to experience real day-to-day life in China and ask questions about many aspects of Chinese culture, which deepened my understanding. Working with children was a new and rewarding discovery for me, helping me develop skills I didn't know I had. Although there were some challenges along the way, Wanderlust Exchange supported me throughout and solved them promptly. I truly value the lessons I gained from this experience and the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I am grateful to both host families for welcoming me into their homes and wish them all the best for the future.

I am grateful to Wanderlust for such a dream come true. I fell so inlove with my student, and we share a very strong and beautiful bond. She could not speak any English when I arrived, and I'm grateful to God for granting me the strength, wisdom and courage to change this little girl's life. If you are thinking of joining this program, I'd encourage you to be mentally ready for it. Understand why you want to do this, what's your end goal, what do you want to gain out of it? Remember, this is about another child's future. You have to ensure that you are ready to provide the necessary knowledge to the student you are teaching. Always be calm, and remember how your positive words and energy can turn any negative situation around. A big thanks to Kris for her constant support thorough my 10 months. I had an amazing opportunity to do my second program with Wanderlust and explore Harbin for 6 months. After my first program in Beijing my chinese skills have improved significantly so life in Harbin became easier, communicating with locals and getting by became much more enjoyable on daily basis! Northern cuisine was delicious and the people there are very welcoming. I made friends along the way, travelled to different cities with the host family and experienced the local festivities. If you're looking for an authentic chinese experience I'd absolutely recommend this program, the support from the team is also great.
