- Healthcare Experience in Zanzibar
Healthcare Experience in Zanzibar
Join our Healthcare Experience project, also open to interns, and assist at one of two local hospitals in Zanzibar. Gain practical experience on the ground while experiencing how the medical and healthcare system works on an island in a developing country with a different culture. Most sub-Saharan African countries present numerous diseases (including malaria, cholera, and HIV/AIDS), accident-related injuries, mental illness, and other concerns. Zanzibar isn't different, with its unique healthcare landscape. You may encounter situations seldom occurring in Europe, the UK, the USA, and other Western areas. This exposure broadens your medical knowledge and boosts your diagnostic skills as you learn to recognize and treat tropical illnesses. Stay in the program for 4 weeks, with a longer duration subject to visa requirements. Ideal volunteers or interns are those studying or already qualified in medicine, healthcare, or related fields.
