Vive Peru offers a volunteering program in the field of social work. Grab this opportunity to make a positive impact on Peruvian children! You will partner with a social work institution focused on serving and providing support to kids in an after-school program or orphanage. 

Your main responsibilities are to help care for the children and lead them during enrichment activities such as arts and crafts projects, workshops, homework tutoring, and English teaching. Depending on the organization, you will work with babies to teens. You will receive information about specific work sites upon acceptance. You will also go through orientation, wherein our American staff will help design activities that you will lead based on your interests and talents.  

Our staff will meet with you each week to help plan activities at the institution where you are assigned. They will also help you find materials necessary for planned activities, giving the children a more enriching experience as well as helping you be more effective. While fluency in Spanish is not required, a basic to intermediate level is highly recommended since several of the children and staff members do not speak English.
