You will also participate in a 6-week internship or research project, allowing you to focus your studies on a unique sustainability topic (i.e., work on a farm monitoring irrigation, improving agricultural techniques, promoting organic agriculture). Senegal has a tropical but comfortable climate, with cool Atlantic water surrounding it on three sides. The climate is often described as "eternal spring" because of the idyllic temperatures and weather. Despite this, the country is not immune to climate change and challenges in sustainable development. Program Highlights
Gain insights into social justice and sustainable development concepts through classroom experience and engagement with local communities.
Visit various sites, which may include local markets, development organizations, and areas of interest in and around Dakar and the rural Toubacouta region.
Live with a homestay family in Senegal, and enjoy daily breakfasts and dinners.
Take 16 credits for fall or spring semester, followed by a six-week internship or research project.
Take additional 4 credits for optional French language pre-session.
