The National Registration Center for Study Abroad offers a combination Spanish study program and volunteering opportunity in the city of Montevideo in Uruguay. Volunteers will spend at least four weeks studying Spanish in group classes and mastering language skills such as listening, grammar, and oral and written comprehension. English will not be used in class. Volunteers can enroll in as many weeks as desired, but must spend about two to four weeks (four to 12 weeks for beginners) to fully benefit from the course. Volunteers will be placed in community volunteering positions for a minimum of four weeks. Opportunities are available in various fields, including Healthcare, Social Services, Teaching, Ranch Stay, and Early Childhood Education.
