The Experiment Digital: International Virtual Exchanges

In my opinion, this trip was amazing in almost all regards. I have made multiple friends, both in and beyond my group, and my group and I have created an unbreakable bond. The sights were amazing, we often partook in the local transportation, and most importantly, we had freedom in where we wanted to go. For example, one time, around ten or so people in our group went to find a restaurant by ourselves, and we all were able to return to the hostel, with no pushback from our group leaders. Another time, we all planned to meet up at the gates of our hostel and head out to a local park, truly one of the best nights of the trip (maybe even that year)! All in all, from the food, to the culture, to the people, the trip truly immersed me in Japan, and I am so glad I chose to participate.

It was an amazing trip. I met so many amazing people and learned a lot of new things. We traveled to a bunch of different cities/towns in Italy. We took a few language classes before we did a homestay. The families were amazing, I felt like I was family. The highlight of the trip was the multiple cooking classes we did with an amazing chef to guide us. We also got to eat all the food after!?

During my Spain 3 week travel, I really felt that it irrevocably changed me for the future. For example, the amount of independence and confidence I gained is something that it didn't necessarily expect. From flying domestically by myself and navigating the streets of busy Spain, I was forced to be able to navigate independently and find my place in a foreign country. My host family was additionally very kind, and truly made me feel welcome in their home. The new Spanish friends that I made I still keep in contact with today, as they made an honest effort to make me feel included. Overall, I would definitely recommend this program to students who want a very new experience and to understand a culture different from their own.

it was a wonderful experience in every way! All the activities and meetings were very well thought out, and I gained a lot of knowledge from each one of them. I learned a lot about climate change and how is it directly connected other social problems, and now I know what actions I must take to really make a change. In addition, I learned a lot about the culture and customs of each of the participants, and made many friends! The support team was also incredible and very welcoming, I loved this experience!

This exchange gave me lots of materials and opportunities to greaten my knowledge. I was sable to build new global relationships and also just generally get to know more about climate justice. Th modules where very creative and wonderful, despite canvas first seaming kind of confusing, it was great after working with it for a wile and we also got support if we needed any. It was something I defiantly want to do again. Thank you

I believe that it is an extremely complete program, wich encourages you to try to be better by taking yourself out of your comfort zone, I am sure that it is not only my case, but my confidence gratly increased. In addition, the knowledge that this programs transmitted to me was just "exquisite" I do not even think about another word to describe it, I learned more about certain topics that I thought I knew, this program really made me grow.

The topics of the program were holistic to climate change. This is really an unforgettable experience! I learned so much besides climate change and environment. I feel motivated to use the knowledge I gained during the program in my community to see the world I described in my Radical Imagination Vision Board! The program makes me feel glad because I know more about myself and the ideas I have regarding the world I want to become more than just imaginary. It has been inspiring and challenging.

The Experiment Digital-Climate Change and the Environment was a wonderful program in which I've learned a lot about climate change, climate crisis, climate justice, and more interesting topics about the environment. During the last 6 weeks, I really enjoyed each discussion in canvas, the workshops, and family dialogues. All these activities help me a lot grow my knowledge and learn from other participants' points of view. I feel truly grateful to had had the opportunity to participate in this program. I don’t think there are enough words to describe how grateful I am for having been given the opportunity to be a participant of the amazingly well organized “The Experiment Digital-Climate Change and the Environment” program. Before this digital experience I thought climate change was such a big problem that I was a meaningless element in the equation. I had even started questioning if my individual actions mattered somehow. Now, I can happily say that not only I’m sure that climate crisis should concern me as anybody else, but also I have now the knowledge about concise and tangible strategies to achieve systemic change in order to transition from an exploitive way of living to a regenerative economy with the main purpose of promoting societal and environmental well-being. Finally, I can say that now I have the pleasure to be part of a beautiful network with amazing people from all over the world. I’ve grown so much during these last six weeks, and I can’t wait to start working so that, someday, we achieve what we all dreamed about in our Radical Imagination Vision Boards.

The Experiment Digital Climate Change & Environment program, has taught me that we young and adult people have to fight for what we want to reach in our lives. If we want to change our society, we have to act because things don't happen if we don't make them happen. So this program has given us tools to start acting in our community and also more climate change knowledge. In addition, non-English speakers (like me) have improved quite a bit our ability to talk this language. Moreover, we have discovered new technological resources that are really helpful. Besides, one of my favourite things was meeting and talking to people from all around the world and we've created very special links between one another. We all shared some common interests and everyone was so kind that some of us have started a WhatsApp chat together. All in all, this has been an amazing experience that has opened our eyes to such a strict, complex and unfair world. This is just the beginning for all of us! I will never forget it! Thank you a lot!!

It has been a pleasure being part of this program, I have learned a lor, and I have spent a great time. All the program participants, such as peers and facilitators were extremely nice. I would totally recommend it.

I really enjoyed to participate on this program, this opportunity was so awesome! It was a great way to focus on the topic which I am passioned about and on the other way I did this with my new friends from this program! I also had practiced my English skills and learned a lot about not only my society also about different communities and in order to that all the social issues in our world! I have a different knowledge about this topic and a big motivation now!!!

At the beginning of this program, I was already involved in activism in my community with a diminished or poor perspective, since I saw climate change only from the point of view of my city and my country. In this program I learned about many fundamental points on subject, it also helped me to expand and open my mind to the world, as it completely changed my behavior and gave me new lights to be able to carry out projects that can make a difference and inspire others.

My experience with the digital experiment has been fantastic! Throughout the course of this program, I've met some incredible people from all over the world, and it's given me a new perspective on a variety of global issues. There is a strong sense of community, and our facilitators did an outstanding job of directing us and being accessible every week. This program and the people will definitely have a special place in my heart

This program is truly phenomenal. It, not only helped me to make friends across the globe but also moulded me in such a way that I can tackle any issues regarding Climate Justice that comes my way. The program facilitators and staff are very hardworking and it can be seen in their well-put-together work that was assigned to us during the program. The activities are all very fun as well and it is one of those experiences that you wouldn't forget for years to come!

Joining the Experiment Digital and being an effective participant was a really fascinating experience that I would like to repeat. I learnt a lot about climate change and it’s impacts, causes and how to take an action against communities. I also knew about diverse cultures and how could we (youth) all work together to output a sustainable future. I would advise all youth to join the Experiment Digital for Climate Change and Environment.

This program exceeded my expectations. Not only did I learn a lot of things and new interesting concepts, but also I made friends from all around the world. This is a program that everyone should be a part of once in their life because it teaches you to open your mind. Sharing different ideas and points of view gives you a wider picture of what climate change is and what are its consequences.

How can I describe this? It was... even when I'm going to face challenges and doubt about my own mind, I can never forget about this. What I learn. Sometimes, when I try to speak about what this experiment thought me the worlds are too much, that they mix with the other and lose meaning. Because of the excitement that this new mission gave me. All the love, compassion, and passion that the facilitators transmit are inspiring. Now, I don't fight just for one group of people. We fight for all of us. Just like we are, one world. A world where humans take care of all the living beings that co-existed with them. A world where love and respect are the principal values. But, what I really love about this changemaker experience, is that T.E.D. thought me a form of love that can save us.

The TED community is one of the best communities I have been able to be a part of. This experience has meant so much to me. Each week, with the planned activities, I have been able to learn many new things and I have had the opportunity to further develop my analytical and critical thinking. I have met amazing people with the same passions as me. I will be eternally grateful for this experience. The Experiment Digital reaches all parts of the world, and was in Machala, Ecuador.

I really enjoyed this program because it was the first time I had the opportunity to talk and relate to people from all around the world and talk about common topics that concerns us all. Furthermore, I learnt a lot about climate justice, which is really important in the climate change discussion.
