My name is Edvin and I am a Master's student in the Cyber Politics and Goverment Program at Aviv University. During this challenging period, I follow the programme online from abroad. During the programme, I have gained a lot of practical knowledge and have learned to study and apply the material. I was able to follow the lessons online and they were always informative. The instructors were always very helpful, adapting well to the situation at hand, and every lesson was active and interactive. All the teaching materials were easily accessible and I almost always had the opportunity to learn from the latest research. I had the opportunity to listen to several guest speakers and attend conferences and I also had to give several presentations in class on more and more interesting topics. Most importantly, for me, in addition to increasing my lexical knowledge, the programme taught me how to apply it in practice and gave me a comprehensive, integrated view of the political, social and economic implications of technological developments. Besides learning, I had the opportunity to assist the TAU Task Force. This small group of international students was committed to sharing real content about what was happening in Israel. The content they share on social media is a credible representation of reality, with interviews with professors and soldiers all giving a small slice of the events. They are also a safe bet in the international student community, who can pass on information first-hand. I am glad to have been part of this team.

While my academic experience was enriching, I found the lack of meaningful connections with both Israeli and Palestinian communities, both on and off-campus, disappointing. As an international student, I came to Israel expecting to understand its society. The university could benefit from fostering more inclusive initiatives that encourage dialogue and collaboration among diverse student groups.

I am currently pursuing my M.A. in Conflict Resolution and Mediation at Tel Aviv University. I found this program online and spoke with the program director, who turned out to be one of my favorite YouTubers from the Ask an Israeli/Palestinian Project. Having an activist as my supervisor was a great attraction. The program offers a holistic curriculum encompassing Social Psychology, Abrahamic Religions, International Law, Sociology, Politics, and practical negotiation training. It was very good for me in building the foundation for advanced academics. Additionally, the program allows taking courses from other M.A. programs, providing expanded opportunities to tailor my academic career path. Offices for student services are very devoted, and psychological help is available any time. The dorms (Broshim) resemble a suite in a hotel at a reasonable price, with many student lounges for studying and other activities, including a gym. Overall, this is a land I am wholly given over to.

As always (I also did my undergraduate degree at TAU) Tel Aviv University provided excellent support services, including assistance with housing and scholarships. The campus life at TAU isn't comparable to anywhere else! It's vibrant, with many opportunities for social and academic engagement, providing a positive and fulfilling student experience. I think that the Master’s program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation at Tel Aviv University is an exceptional educational experience that gives students all the necessary skills and knowledge to become adepts in the field of conflict resolution or international relations.

I chose to participate in the Security and Diplomacy Master's program at Tel Aviv University. The classes were very interesting and taught by professors with extensive knowledge and experience in their respective fields. There was support and encouragement for open dialogue and discussions of the various topics we studied and it was unique to hear many different perspectives since the students come from an array of countries and backgrounds. There is a lot of diversity among the students which makes for a more compelling environment. Just to name a few, students had come from Ecuador, Denmark, Turkey, Morocco, Greece and Germany. With such a variety of opinions and knowledge, we had many meaningful conversations and debates in regard to our field of study which is quite rewarding and something I did not have a chance to experience in the USA (where I am from.). I lived off campus in the center of Tel Aviv but my commute was very manageable by bus. The campus is pleasant with many open areas to study or relax and offers a nice mix of eateries. I spent much time in two of the libraries, both of which have conducive spaces for group or solo study with very helpful librarians and staff. We went on a few trips as well, to complement our studies, including, a trip around the Gaza envelope communities, Jerusalem and the West Bank while being led by a wonderful tour guide. I would definitely recommend studying at TAU to enhance one's experience in education and culture. There is so much to gain that is sure to elevate one's understanding of the world and desired area of study.

My experience studying in the one-year MA program "Security and Diplomacy" (2022-2023) at Tel Aviv University (TAU) was truly enriching. Academically, the program was well-structured and provided a comprehensive understanding of security and diplomacy. The seminars were the highlight of the program, providing engaging and thought-provoking discussions. My favourite was the Intelligence seminar, thanks to its insightful content and dynamic debates. We also had the unique opportunity to participate in several field trips, which, despite the early wake-up calls (this was rough!), provided incredible insights. These trips took us to borders with Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, allowing us to gain a firsthand understanding of the region's complexities. These experiences, combined with the academic curriculum, made the program exceptionally impactful and memorable. However, I do have to acknowledge, though, that despite the challenging subject matter, the workload was lighter than I expected. Coming from a background where I was accustomed to significant academic pressure, I expected more homework, tasks, and presentations. On another hand, this allowed me to balance my studies with enjoying life in Tel Aviv, providing a well-rounded experience. The university also provided health insurance, which was a reassuring support throughout my stay. Living in Tel Aviv itself was an incredible experience (though, quite expensive). The city’s vibrant atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and rich culture made my time there unforgettable. I enjoyed spending time with friends, exploring the city, and, definitely, the local food :) Overall, my time at TAU was delightful. The combination of academic growth, personal development, and cultural immersion made it an unforgettable chapter in my life.

I am certain I might not capture all that ensued during my master’s degree program at Tel Aviv University. However, I urge you to tune in regardless. I joined Tel Aviv University to pursue a master’s in Sustainable Development. I am passionate about this area as it focuses on issues and topics which inspire, fascinate, and are important to me: current affairs, sustainable policies, and sustainable goals. I’m glad the program has been vigorous and intellectually stimulating, with a strong emphasis on contemporary issues and practical applications. Some of the topics, just to mention a few, include project design and management, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable development goals. Regarding the lectures, saying that there were good lecture sessions is an understatement; the lectures were very exciting and intriguing. I admired the level of understanding and absorption my lecturers expressed on various issues and topics. Their open-mindedness and experience during my interactions with them have broadened my scope in addressing sustainability issues. Our lecturers did everything to make the class as interesting as possible, going so far as to bring in individuals who were already implementing these ideas in the real world. I also enjoyed the interactive meetings and seminars we had. Tel Aviv University is one of the biggest and most diverse universities in Israel. This explains why being a foreign student in Tel Aviv city is more fun than a hassle. The campus is well-equipped with modern facilities. Its green spaces and infrastructure developments fascinate me so much. If asked whether I would love to return to Tel Aviv, I would definitely say yes because, honestly, it has been quite an experience.

I am Jose Cristobal Padilla from Honduras, currently studying an M.A in sustainable development. I chose this path because I am passionate about rural development and contributing positively to the world. So far, my experience in this program has provided me with valuable insights into addressing global agricultural challenges posed by climate change. As a student of this program, I’ve had the opportunity to emerge on Tel Aviv university campus, which is very well equipped with diverse facilities, with numerous libraries to study and comfortable areas for group work. My favorite spots are the grassy areas where you can lay and relax. The campus also holds a very diverse student atmosphere to meet people from different backgrounds and several food options around campus to catch an affordable tasty bite. I also want to highlight also several activities options provided weekly by the student life team to learn more about Israel, holidays and more, but also a space to meet other international students. Besides the studies and life as a student, you can explore the vivid and beautiful city of Tel Aviv. Just when wintertime starts going away and the temperature starts to increase, one of the best things I consider of this city is the opportunity to enjoy and explore the beaches this city has and the great atmosphere its people provide. Also, several parks and green areas are found around for you to enjoy or make a nice picnic. The city is filled with a variety of coffee shops and several international food places for you to try out different cultures, but at the same time you find restaurants with very tasty Israeli local food.

When I began the MA program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation in the fall of 2023, I didn’t know what to expect. It was one of the most uncertain, complicated, and dramatic times in Israeli history, and it felt like life had been upended. In all honesty, with so much going on, studies felt like the last thing on my mind. Little did I know that my program would lend me a degree of insight and perspective that would significantly boost my ability to process the world around me. Through my classes and with the intellectual mentorship of truly amazing scholars and practitioners, I felt myself building layers of nuance in my understanding of the conflict in Israel, as well as other conflicts around the world which I had little knowledge about before. My favorite classes were Political Approaches to Conflict Resolution, Democracy in Ethnically Divided Societies, and Negotiations; these courses went straight to the heart of subjects I have always been deeply interested in, but did not have the opportunity to directly explore in my undergrad experience. I also loved the opportunity to practice my mediation skills through hands-on workshops and in my Negotiations course. I am finishing my degree knowing that I have an enriched toolkit to understanding and engaging with my local and global environment. This is a great personal asset, and one that I know I will carry with my in all of my future academic and personal pursuits. All along the way, I felt extremely supported by my professors and lecturers, as well as the program administrators, who were attentive, responsive, and sensitive to my needs. I would recommend the Conflict Resolution and Mediation program to anyone searching for an intellectually challenging and fascinating experience in the heart of one of the most unique and wonderful cities in the world.

I really enjoyed studying at TAU this year, It was truly wonderful and very beneficial for me in every aspect of my personal development. The new Program - Social and Policy aspects of Climate Change - Has truly helped me excel further in becoming more engaged and knowledgable on the feedback loops of the climate crisis on a global scale. As we see more governmental commitments to Green new Deals , economic decoupling from carbon dependency, and net-zero transition promises, it is key to posses a toolbox of facts and analytical frameworks that this program has equipped me with, and i am thankful for that.

I am currently enrolled in, and almost completed, the Cyber Politics and Government MA Program at The Lowry International School at Tel Aviv University. The program has been an incredible stepping stone to further my career. The courses and curriculum are engaging and exciting, I feel supported by my program administrative team and by my professors. The professors are accomplished and knowledgable and encourage us students to think "outside the box" and broaden our skillsets. The university does a fantastic job at updating the coursework to reflect what is currently going on in the world making the degree very relevant. My peers are from various different backgrounds and countries giving me exposure to a truly worldwide environment. I've made great friends in my program that I will have for life and have met wonderful people from other programs as well. Also, I enjoy my days on campus and feel safe and supported. To study in a city like Tel Aviv is truly a once in a lifetime experience, especially as a student studying in the cyber domain. It has been a very shocking experience since I arrived in Tel Aviv but too incredible, I come from Ecuador a small country in South America, where everything is different, however I got used very fast to the life of the people here in Tel Aviv, to their culture, their food, to the university campus because of how impressive everything was and how beautiful it is. One of my favorite things so far has been the university campus, it is a place where you have everything, an incredible library where I have met so many people from all over the world and I have expanded my knowledge of so many different cultures that are in the Tel Aviv University community. And I think that's one of the most important things about this special place, the people, they have made my experience here something wonderful and I'm sure I will continue to enjoy it for the rest of my time here. Loving the Security & Diplomacy program at Tel Aviv Uni! Classes are intense but so interesting, our discussions are with the focus on the Middle East. Professors conduct classes rather interesting , some are even ex-diplomats! The campus is clean and nice, Tel Aviv itself is insane - beaches, history, nightlife, all in one place! Sure, there's some adjusting to do, but meeting people from everywhere makes it totally worth it. Highly recommend this program if you're considering it. Tel Aviv is an energetic, multicultural metropolis. There's always something to do, from exploring historical sites to hitting the beach or enjoying the incredible nightlife. The city is incredibly welcoming, and I've made friends from different parts of the world.

I chose this program because of the wide range of courses and the opportunity to participate in an internship throughout the program. Overall, it's been a great experience with a wide range of courses. The professors provide us with meaningful and relevant examples throughout the courses to support our learning. I came to TAU to study the Master program in Cyber, Politics and Government Studies. This is an innovative program, combining lectures from political and social sciences with technical introductions to cybertechnologies etc., thus giving students without a background in IT a profound technical understanding while also looking at the impact of cyber on the social, economic and political domains. I enjoy being part of the very diverse student body with people coming from a wide range of disciplines, exchanging their knowledge. The classes are overall interesting although the focus is often on cyber security rather than on cyber in general. I would encourage the program to include more field trips, events and hands-on/practical knowledge. The program is challenging but a good experience with many new insights gained so far. Studying in Tel Aviv with its famous cyber eco-scene makes this program even more relevant.

I didn't really know what to expect, when I got into the program of Master of Disaster Management. But it proved to be interesting, exciting and practical. Looking forward to the second semester, which will have many promising subjects to cover. I love being here in Israel, surrounded by students from all around the globe and exchanging our experiences. And I am so happy to be able to study disaster management in Israel, which is well-known for overcoming all sorts of disasters.

To complete the whole experience, living in the vibrant Tel Aviv and Israel couldn’t be better, with its mixture of modernity and past.

I am having a great time in Tel Aviv University! But, my program had a better marketing then what they really offer, unfortunately… I made friends and my classes are, overall, interesting, but they dont offer a lot of events and field trips, as most of the students were expecting. TAU has the greatest campus ever, and thats one of the reasons why I chose it! I just wish I had more opportunities for networking or practical learning in my field!

In 2022, I decided to take the Master of Disaster Management program in Tel Aviv University so I could further enhance my professional skills in humanitarian and emergency management field, and it has been fulfilling to me thus far. Through this course, I'm able to expand my knowledge on how to manage disaster situations, both natural and man-made, because of the program’s comprehensive curriculum. Known for having the most experience in disaster management, I feel Israel is a great place for me not just to learn more about this field, but to experience it firsthand.

I applied to three international MFA programs in 2022, but I eventually chose Tel Aviv University's MFA in Documentary Cinema program because it has the most comprehensive curriculum among the three universities. The program has been very enriching to me as an artist and filmmaker as I got introduced to various styles and techniques in documentary filmmaking. In our "Meeting with Israeli Directors" subject, we got to meet with several Israeli documentary filmmakers on a weekly basis and learned so much not just from watching the films but also from the Q&As we had with the filmmakers themselves. I got to practice and improve my skills in filmmaking on a weekly basis. For my Ethnographic Film class, I filmed on my own in the Ha'Tachana Ha'Merkazit, or the Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv, where fellow Filipinos who work in Israel gather on a weekly basis. It was such a unique experience to me, as I got to shoot, direct, write, and edit a short ethnographic film all on my own. The professors in my program are all practitioners in the Israeli documentary industry, and they are all very generous in sharing their knowledge and expertise to us. The practical skills are complemented by theoretical classes, which further deepen our understanding of the documentary practice. We don't just get to improve our craft, but we also get to develop our critical thinking as well, which I feel is very important to my craft as a filmmaker. Add to this, I don't just get to live in such a vibrant city like Tel Aviv, but I get to experience history as well, as I get access to various historical sites in the country. The colorful mix of history and modernity in Israel is quite a unique experience for me as an international student, and I'm really very happy that I chose to study in the Tisch School for Film and Television of Tel Aviv University.
