If I have any questions or am needing to talk anything out with someone, I know they are readily available for email and during their weekly coaching calls. The course is clear to follow and is logically laid out in a way that is not overwhelming.

Teaching abroad has let me meet people from all around the world and understand new cultures and food. And tefl course was the perfect way to begin that journey, they are awesome. The course was well-structured and the real classroom videos helped me feel more confident about teaching. I appreciated the personal feedback and coaching sessions, which made the online format feel very supportive. It was a bit intense at times, but overall I feel prepared and ready to start teaching.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
When I was growing up, my family didn’t travel much. An annual trip to the beach was about as far as my parents would venture. So in high school, when the opportunity to join an art history trip to Europe came about, I jumped at the chance! The languages, the culture, the food – I loved it all.

We didn’t travel much when I was a kid, so my first travel experiences were in the back of a station wagon that was always “going to turn right around and go home if you kids don’t stop arguing, keep your hands to yourself!”.

I was working a 9-5 corporate job and just not feeling totally fulfilled in my life. I was making great money, had all the nice things I wanted, but felt like there was so much more out there for me. I internally knew that I needed to take a risk and decided to quit my job, give away all my furniture, sell my car, buy a backpack and start travelling. I went to New Zealand on a working holiday visa and had very little money when I got there. I joined the WWOOF (willing workers on organic farms) community and things took off from there. I was able to travel all over the country trying new things and meeting the most amazing people. Those memories will stay with me forever!
