Program Overview

Being a deckhand on a boat can be a fulfilling and exciting career path for those who are passionate about the sea, enjoy physical activity, are willing to work hard and learn new skills, and get the chance to travel the world and go to the most amazing destinations.

This package includes STCW Basic Safety Training providing students with an important introduction to working at sea and equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely onboard a seagoing vessel. Upon obtaining this, students meet the minimum requirement for working on superyachts and commercial vessels. Also, RYA Powerboat Level 2 is a two-day comprehensive course covering all aspects of powerboats—handling, safety, and pilotage with training vessels used including the 6.5m Capelli Tender.

This course also includes RYA Jet Ski License (PWC). Jet skiing is a popular activity for guests on board superyachts. Driving a jet ski without a license is legally forbidden in the Mediterranean, and crew members with such licenses may often gain better jobs aboard yachts and progress in their careers.
