After the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the world, I took time to reflect on the next direction in my life. As global travel gradually resumed, I decided to pursue a TEFL certification as a meaningful way to combine education, cultural exchange, and international work. After researching several programs, I chose SLS Pattaya in Thailand due to its strong reputation and practical teaching focus. Before enrolling, I had the opportunity to speak directly with the director, Paul Lambert, whose guidance was invaluable. He took the time to understand my individual background and provided thoughtful advice prior to my arrival. I arrived in Pattaya shortly before the course began and quickly found myself part of a supportive and collaborative group of classmates from Ireland, France, and India. Our instructor was highly experienced and created a professional yet encouraging learning environment that helped us quickly meet the program’s standards. One of the most valuable aspects of the course was its emphasis on practical teaching. By the third week, we were already teaching students in a reputable school setting, working with learners ranging from young children to teenagers. This real classroom experience greatly strengthened our confidence and teaching ability. Completing the certification was both rewarding and bittersweet. I remain deeply grateful to SLS Pattaya and proud to be associated with such a dedicated and supportive institution.

My TEFL course experience was unforgettable. Even though it was a short period of time, I was able to meet wonderful classmates, met perfect instructor, and was able to widen my views in teaching. I was the youngest in the class at the time, but classmates interacted with me as a grown-up trainee, not a child. Also i was able to exchange various culture within the course since my classmates were diverse. Within the practical teaching, I was able to experience the real teaching environment, which made me love teaching even more. Overall, I absolutely recommend this course to anyone whose willing to teach abroad, with full of diverse environment, fantastic trainers and perfect environment for practicing teaching.
