About SADP-Nepal
Sustainable Agriculture Development Program Nepal (SADP-Nepal) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2004 to improve the livelihoods of underprivileged and resource-poor farmers through research, development and the promotion of sustainable agricultural systems. Guided by the belief, “Everything else can wait, agriculture can’t,” SADP-Nepal works in partnership with farmers, communities, academia, government agencies and national and international organizations.
The organization promotes organic, regenerative and climate-smart agriculture to improve soil health, conserve biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience and enhance food and nutrition security. Its work includes farmer training, participatory research, women and youth empowerment, indigenous seed and species conservation, value addition, market development, environmental conservation and knowledge sharing.
SADP-Nepal also supports sustainable rural livelihoods by establishing resource and learning centers, demonstration farms and farmer-to-farmer learning opportunities. Through agro-tourism and eco-tourism, it aims to connect organic farming, local food, nature, culture and rural communities to create additional economic opportunities.
The long-term vision of SADP-Nepal is to develop sustainable agricultural communities across Nepal that protect soil, water, forests and biodiversity while improving farmers' incomes and livelihoods. Its core philosophy is “Healthy Soil, Healthy Life.”
