RUCHI evolved into a socio-technical organization in 1990, pioneering rooftop water harvesting and implementing a demonstration unit at their Rajgarh office. They utilized roof catchment and durable ferro-cement tanks to store and distribute rainwater for various purposes. RUCHI's ferro-cement technology gained popularity and led to their recognition as a Technology Resource Centre by the Ministry of Rural Development.
