Yoga Internship in Cape Town, South Africa
by: Roots Interns
Calling our limber and strong friends to enrich Cape Town’s yoga community! During this internship, you’ll help lead classes in yoga (and, if within your skillset, meditation) to both children and adults through initiatives with Projekt Ubuntu. This is a nonprofit that recognizes the need for an unfaltering mindset to face the social issues that are commonplace in South Africa, meaning interns will join this effort to enrich individuals with a powerful approach to adversity. What’s more, you’ll also assist the program’s overall day-to-day running to truly immerse yourself in a nonprofit organization. Daily tasks include organizing and running yoga classes, potentially assisting with social media and communications, and helping fundraise if needed. Tranquil yet energizing, this program strives for balance to foster a holistic individual with a thriving mind and soul. Your contribution in this internship aims to help participants connect with their inner peace amidst the stress of the world.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a yoga expert?
While you do need to have some previous experience in yoga and/or mindfulness, there’s no need to be an expert. This is an opportunity to hone your yoga teaching skills with adults and kids.
Will I also work on weekends?
The weekends are all yours! You can use your free time to explore the town and engage in fun activities or relax down at the beach. Keep in mind that any activities you participate in outside of the internship are not covered in the program fees, including trips, souvenirs and transportation.
What will my responsibilities be?
As a yoga intern you’ll be handling tasks in the preparation and execution of yoga classes for both adults and children. Since this organization is very community oriented you might be completing tasks that aren’t yoga related like assisting with communications, fundraising, and hands-on activities that are focused on community building and spreading awareness.
